Farm and country based setting with friendly staff
Came for a 70th birthday meal , never stayed here before but was pleasantly surprised . Karl is a wonderful host and his breakfasts were amazing couldnt do enough for his guest made to feel welcome from the very first hello . Karls knowledge of the area is second to none . Local pub within walking distance , a car is a must really although local buses run regular and taxi firm is reasonable .
We were looking on the Internet for somewhere to stay for our 4 day break In the Newcastle area when we found East Byermoor. My did we drop lucky, set in beautiful countryside within easy reach of all major attractions and only 10 minutes from the Metro Shopping Centre. Plenty of eateries within short distance. The accommodation was excellent value for money it was homely, clean and very comfortable with a beautiful garden. Karl & Jacqi the owners were very welcoming and eager to help in anyway. Excellent breakfast with a varied choice. It was lovely at the end of a busy day sightseeing/walking to come "home" and have a lovely hot shower and relax. We highly recommend East Byermoor and would definitely stay here again. Marie & Graham Lightfoot
We spent the weekend visiting family before Xmas. Jackie and Karl were very welcoming, and the room was warm and comfortable. They have two spaniels who are very friendly, but unless they are let loose you wouldn't know they were there.
The guesthouse is situated on top of a hill close to Newcastle and was a perfect site for us to stay.
The room was clean and welcoming, with hair dryer ,tv and tea/coffee
Breakfast was ample. A selection of tea / cofee or juice, toast, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and muesli.
Karl took our order for the cooked part, I had poached eggs the first morning, and scrambled the second. Both lovely and well presented.
Ample parking was available, and the freedom to come and go as we pleased.
Will definitely recommend and look forward to staying there again.
This is off the beaten track a little but well worth the effort to visit. Without question the best breakfast I have ever had away from home, very comfortable rooms, peaceful, lovely surroundings, lots of character too. I arrived late however was immediately made to feel welcome by Karl and given advice on where I could go to grab some food. Lovely pub a few hundred yards away that served really good homemade food. I have already booked to go back here and would highly recommend to one and all.

Must stay here in Newcastle-upon-Tyne area
Outstanding B&B in the English countryside. Nicely appointed rooms in a lovely stone cottage. Carl was the perfect host and was very gracious. It felt like staying with family. Great breakfast as well. I would love to stay here again.
God save the queen and East Byermoor Guest House! ;-)
een B&B waar je meer dan waar krijgt voor je geld. De eigenaren zijn super vriendelijk .Het ontbijt royaal en goed verzorgd.er word rekening gehouden met je wensen.
beautiful stay, amazing gardens much more than what you can see in the pictures, don't miss spending some time outside. if you have the chance definitely choose this location instead of a hotel in the city carl is a wonderful host, we enjoyed everything there and hope to visit again!
We initially booked here as our trip was to visit Beamish and it was a short distance from the museum. When we arrived we were greeted in the car park by Karl who carried our bags and showed us to our room. What a wonderful host! He made us so welcome and couldn't do enough for us, we really felt at home. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable with a fabulous view overlooking the garden. The breakfast both mornings was fab and kept us going most of the day. Close to some lovely restaurants which were recommended by Karl. All in all we had a wonderful trip and will definitely return when we next stay in the area! Would highly recommend!!
The guesthouse is nicely situated in extensive grounds. The room was comfortable with a good view out onto lovely countryside. The room was warm and comfortable and the breakfasts were top class. The only adverse comment is the "Booking In time" between 17.00 hrs and 1900 hrs. Having written that we got in at 1500hrs!
Nice guy and very helpful, bathroom had hairs stuck to the base of the shower on the outside and my wife asked for scrambled eggs and got fried, other than that, it was fine. I do think £79 a night is too expensive for a basic B&B.
I arrived after 8pm - staff made me tea and cake and so I was able to relax after a busy day of travelling, this extra was much appreciated. Breakfast was a delight with the full traditional breakfast - although other options are available for those with other preferences.
Excellent host, clean room, top class breakfast. If we are staying in the area next time will definitely return to this place. Can't recommend enough!!!
