"Uniquely centered steps from the famous Catédral St. Nicholas... Museums, Dining, College St. Michel, historic / Medieval charm and absolutely one-of-its-kind architectural details. We started taking pix of the "Doors of Fribourg" and then "the Windows of Fribourg" as a lark. The breakfast was a bit expensive, but delicious and expansive. Frankly, a breakfast could serve one for two meals with good proteins, fruit, and delicious pastries of all kinds."

"Reception was very helpful recommended very good restaurant where I ate each night. Staff always courteous and helpful. The room was spacious, well appointed, recently updated and very clean. It is extremely conveniently located, 4 minute walk from the station an 6 from the city centre. The is a Co-op supermarket between it and the station which was very useful. Breakfast was nice and early, from 0630, and was an excellent standard, varied continental breakfast. I had a 3 night stay and would definitely return if in the area again."

"It would have been good to have instructions on how to enter the indoor parking facility. It was a shame also that the charging stations were not operational although advertised as available online. There was no option to check out on the self service screen at the reception."

"We enjoyed our stay at Hotel de l’Ecluse. The property was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent for exploring Neuchâtel, especially the lakefront, the Collegiate Church, and the castle area, all within easy walking distance. A couple of maintenance issues could use attention — the toilet seat in our room was loose and the shower drain cover kept coming off during use. The room was also quite warm at night. We were able to open the window to cool it down while sleeping, but there was noticeable traffic noise from outside. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay and appreciated the convenience of the location."

"Great breakfast. Dinner expensive. The hotel has been undergoing renovations since 2024 and there is still a fair bit to do. Because of scaffolding a lot of the balconies and windows are locked shut. There is no air conditioning. Luckily we changed to a room that had opening windows and balcony. The indoor spa areas were closed but the 2outdoor thermal pools were great.The hotel has lovely tall domed ceilings and will be fabulous once finished. A lot of the bedrooms still need decorating and I don’t think there are plans for air conditioning which could be a problem in the summer.We had a great couple of days but would check state of rooms and amenities before booking."
