"I escaped not just to a beach, I escaped myself. My anxious thoughts vanished, time slowed, and certain peace overflowed and consumed my existence. In this space I found the time to hear the sounds of nature, I found myself appreciating the texture of the sand and grass under bare feet, I found clarity and a sense of cleaning away the burden of the past few months of daily life in a wash of cool crystalline water as I snorkeled around the cove, over coral reefs and inlets, but most of all, I found my breath.
