"Front Reception was excellent! From that point on everything went down hill. A very run down room with a dirty window looking over the car park. Threadbare carpet and frayed edges of the mattress hanging down. Dated decor and a less than pristine bathroom with a disgusting non slip mat! Really! Loud music played in the breakfast room. "We stayed in room 11 which was lovely, decorated well and had a very large bathroom with a free standing bath. Breakfast was great with a good choice. Lisa was extremely helpful and having the option to be taken and brought back from nearby restaurants was an added touch, as well as the electric charging points"

"The location and apartment were great! Unfortunately the beds were the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in - so lumpy and uneven we couldn't sleep for the 2 nights we were there. The sofa bed mattress was so thin you could feel the metal frame all night. The mattresses all need replacing!"

"A classic 18 century coaching in with Ultra modern facilities and Michelin level food the staff are really helpful and can’t do too much for us helping us tune our TV to ensure that we had ability to watch the World Cup games. The food is a different level to coaching and could be a Michelin star restaurant the court outstanding and the quantity very generous. I would highly recommend this coaching in the Brown horse for either stay or a meal either way you’ll enjoy yourself. I’ll probably keep...

Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."
