"My stay was one of those amazing experiences I may never forget. The room was large, clean, and beautiful. The bar downstairs was friendly and welcoming. Even if I didn't venture out, it would have been a great experience. Yet I did, and so much food and music was within a short walk up the street to Frenchmen St., and of course on Royal St."

"I want to discourage everyone from staying at the Royal Frenchman… in order to keep this place to myself! Don’t stay here if want a modern hotel, with many modern amenities, lacking in character and charm. Don’t stay if colorful staff with a passion for the music of New Orleans ( which they bring nightly to the hotel lobby or courtyard) is not your thing. "Such a great stay! Some of the staff were excellent to work with and have conversations with. The room was large and quaint. The pool was secluded and fairly quiet. Convenient location for walking to eat and explore. The only issue we had was the shower only out out hot water and we couldn’t take a shower because it was too hot. They told us the plumber could not come on the weekend. We had the option to switch to a queen room or keep or king room. Apart from that issue this was a great place...

"This is a magnificent place to stay in New Orleans. I stayed here one for a wedding and since then I don’t look anywhere else for a room if the Frenchmen is available. There’s not much to the place except nice old rooms at a great location. The rooms can feel a bit bare and some fixtures are old but that’s part of the charm for us. Excellent pool and hot tub. Highly recommend. "

"Perfect retreat for my celebration of life trip to NOLA! The Bunk House room is a gem with its unique, solid bunk bed and dreamy wall art creating a magical ambiance. Though not large, the room is thoughtfully organized, feeling spacious and functional. The powerful AC and fan were lifesavers in the heat, and the shower's water pressure was incredible after city explorations. Loved the practical touches - great coffee maker, mini-fridge and microwave for storing late-night po' boys from NOLA...

"We had a suite and there was plenty of room. We enjoyed the sitting area. The pool and hot tub area were very nice. The check in staff was so friendly. We loved it was historical. Be aware it is historical and although there have been upgrades, it is an older home. Overall it was great and we would return. "

"For the rate it charged, I would have expected more. If the rate was lower, I wouldn't mind giving it a higher rating. No proper check-in area. No proper luggage storage area. The room was basic. With basic amenities. Not even a toothbrush and toothpaste. No kettle. Not even a chair or small sofa to sit in the room except the bed. The AC was not working properly.
