"We had a great 1 night stay here. Excellent location on the lagoon, near the beach and restaurants/ bars nearby. Small resort which looks lovely on the outside. The rooms and balconies are huge and very quiet. The host was very friendly and helped arrange a transfer to Colombo airport the following day. He was very responsive via text and happy to help with anything. The breakfast was also very nice. Excellent value for money! "

"This hotel has basic amenities and it's proximity to the beach is wonderful. The service is exceptional and the people who work there are so wonderful. This is not a luxurious hotel by any means, but would I stay here again, yes I would. Basic comforts were provided, including a mosquito net over the bed and a mosquito repellant plug in (much needed for the third friend who didn't have a mosquito net over her single bed). We were upgraded to an ocean view room on a top floor (lots of stairs), so...

"Loved our 3 days at Taru Villas. Beautiful, quiet boutique hotel on a fabulous beach. The staff made the hotel feel like home -they were exceptional. Particular shout out to Pramodya who made us very welcome, and to Sam who went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Restaurant was also excellent!"

"Kleines famiiengeführtes Hotel ( ein Bungalow, ein großes Familienzimmer) mit kleinem Restaurant mit toller Aussicht auf das Meer direkt an der wundervollen Bucht von Unakuruwa, die sehr gut zum Schwimmen und zum Surfen geeignet ist. Die übergroße Herzlichkeit und die Natürlichkeit der Betreiberfamilie lässt über Ausstattung der Zimmer hinwegsehen. Der größere Bungalow hat eine schöne Terrasse. Es ist eher ein Homestay als ein Hotel. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt."

"Hotel felt dated and neglected. The breakfast was cold and inedible, so we ate out each morning. However, we felt it would have been pointless telling the staff as they seemed uninterested and like they had their spirit broken. The room was dirty and sheet were stained, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It needs shutdown and given a deep deep deep clean then remodelled. I suspect the owner or manager need to try and build up their staffs morale as the staff were so unhappy it felt awkward. "
