rooms are wonderful food is gourmet both breakfast and dinner
great stop for two days as you get to see the village and the lake area
It was a wonderful stay in a truly beautiful setting.
Whether on the restaurant terrace, in the backyard, by the pool, or on the room’s private terrace, every spot was comfortable and allowed me to truly relax from the bottom of my heart.
The staff were friendly and helpful, kindly responding to several of my questions and requests.Of course, the restaurant was also wonderful.
I especially loved the buffalo cheese and the chicken — truly memorable dishes.
I would love to return for a longer stay next time.
Thank you so much for everything.
What a wonderful place. So peaceful and serene. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were so wonderful and friendly. The atmosphere was terrific and the food was amazing. So glad we stayed here.
Lovely inn with spacious rooms with elegant country decor. Fantastic restaurant by Alain Ducasse with multi course dinner and full breakfast. Beautiful property and pool close to Gorges du Verdon for hiking or kayaking.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at La Bastide de Moustiers.
Our room was cosy, the attention to details given to the fixtures and fittings of the room was exceptional and gave a very luxurious Provençal touch.
Although the staff was happy to reserve a table for us at the highly rated Ducasse restaurant, we didn’t not dine there, however it is a significant plus to top up the luxurious Provençal experience.
We enjoyed spending time by the pool although it would have been more enjoyable had the pool been heated.
Overall a very comfortable and luxurious stay.
Charming in every way. Lovely gardens, yummy breakfast. Restaurant was closed when we were there on a Tuesday. Can’t wait to return another time to experience it.

Very disappointing experience
Hotel is very outdated. We came since we were interested in dining in the restaurant, but only found out a few day before it will now be open the night we arrive. Would not chose the hotel or recommend it if not dining in. Also, would expect a much dated look. It really feels run down. We came back from town at 8:00. Kitchen was closed and nothing to offer next to the coffee which I would expect from that kind of hotel to offer minimal snacks to accommodate guests that arrive late or still hungry since it’s not a walking distance of anything that might offer that service. Staff was very friendly and unfortunately this is the only thing I can say positive. About this stay. Reminded us of hotels we stayed in 30 years ago while visiting France.
I was disappointed with our visit. In my booking request I specifically stated "spacious" as we travel for 2 months and have considerable luggage. accommodation was very small, although attractive and once we had semi unpacked (there was only a tiny wardrobe etc.) we felt very uncomfortable. To be fair, when we explained our concerns, we were moved to another room, which was slightly larger.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant and did their best. However, the Bastide in our opinion is overpriced and did not even include breakfast which was an additional EUR50.00 for two persons and was fairly modest in comparison with the delicious and plentiful breakfasts served in Austria and Italy. For the price charged we expected a larger and more comfortable room and certainly breakfast included. We feel that our booking request was not given sufficient consideration, even though we understand that it can only be a "request", we should have been informed in advance that rooms are tiny as we would not have booked with this establishment.
The biting flies are a very real problem at this time of the year and we do feel that the Bastide could have made an effort to use "plug in" deterrants in room and public areas and also by the pool. Having the cheese consumed by flies before being served was very offputting. Its a very unpleasant and serious problem and needs to be addressed. Can only hope that the kitchen has some sort of fly screens!!!!!!!
It was shoulder season when we stayed (mid October), but the grounds were not well kept. The pool was heated and “open” but none of the chairs were set up to enjoy the amenity which was disappointing.
The hotel and room was quaint but I didn’t feel that the price reflected the quality of the hotel
We stayed as a group of 3 at the end of July. Lovely team working in the restaurant and hotel. We were greeted with a smile and warm a salutation at every moment, making us feel very welcome. Fantastic massage, great pool and surrounding on-site facilities and garden. The food at was phenomenal and breakfast is well worth the extra expense. The only down point was the bees. There were so many, it made dining out in the courtyard area impossible. We had to eat inside in the middle of summer, in room near the kitchen, without air-conditioning. We appreciate that the restaurant/hotel tries to encourage organic on-site production of honey and bee pollination, and that the location is in the middle of Provence, however it made our stay a hesitant and nerving one, especially as one of our group members has a bee sting allergy.
I ADORE the Bastide de Moustiers. This is the third time I've stayed at the hotel and it has yet to let me down on any front. A true gem in one of the most stunning areas of Provence.
