"A lovely hotel with delicious food and a beautiful, peaceful setting. You should stay here. We stayed in a little stone cottage separate from the hotel an easy 5-minute walk up the hill. It used to be the dog kennels. In fact, the low stone walls topped with iron fencing that served as the two outside pens of the kennel are still there, as are the doggie doors -- tho’ these are firmly closed. "This was a quick overnight trip for me, but I found the place delightful in every way and I will certainly come back for longer if I get the chance."

"I really enjoyed my one night stay at the Commercial Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the hot, lush shower a delight after a week’s camping in the Cairngorms. The food was also good, both at dinner and breakfast. The staff were all very friendly, and Martin - who seemed to be in charge - was very efficient. There was ample free car parking behind the hotel. Overall the Commercial Hotel has the feel of a traditional Scottish inn, right at the heart of its community with a very lively bar. All in all, a great stay - I’ll be back!"

"We stayed in one of the offsite casa style rooms which was perfect for our family (we were parents travelling with two teenagers). Room was clean and had all we needed for our two night stay. We appreciated the afternoon scones and tea in the main hotel. We were surprised that our rooms didn’t have any housekeeping between our first and second nights so I’m not sure if that was part of the casa room service or not but our request for addition towels was taken care of quickly!"

"Excellent stay, been here a couple of times now. Food is great - breakfast gives plenty of options for all tastes (full Scottish to granola and fruit). Lunch and dinner and good pub style offerings. Rooms are generally a good size and nicely decorated. Some rooms can be a bit noisy depending on where you are in the property. Rooms downstairs at the front of the boat house ( the building on the other side of the car park to the main building/pub/restaurant) are quieter whereas rooms at the back and upstairs you can hear guests in other rooms."

"What a magical little place this is! Absolutely loved the cabin and all the unique decor and trinkets and the location is breathtaking…so peaceful. The couples hot tub was perfect and nice to relax in after coming back from lovely walks. Well done to the owners of the Sweet Donside Cabins. We’d love to come back."
