To start, we came in with our three little children and our two service dogs after a 12 hour drive.
We had an extremely upsetting experience at this hotel due to the conduct of a front desk employee named Angela. Upon check-in, we were questioned extensively about our disabilities, which is not permitted under the ADA. We were also told we “shouldn’t have two service dogs” and were subjected to unnecessary scrutiny and hostility.
Angela was rude, dismissive, and spoke to us in a degrading manner while challenging the legitimacy of our service animals. We were made to feel embarrassed and unwelcome while simply trying to exercise our legal right to accommodation. This was not a misunderstanding — it was a clear lack of ADA knowledge combined with an unprofessional and hostile attitude.
As a chain hotel, this was shocking. Service dog handlers should never be interrogated about their disabilities or treated with suspicion and disrespect. This location urgently needs proper ADA training and customer service oversight.
