The check in process was fine, however from there it was pitiful and disappointing. Our room was ok, but only 3 towels for 2 adults and the bed was way too soft and saggy. The soap and shower products smelled fabulous and were wonderful. Now the horrible, unacceptable and completely alarming part of our stay. We were sleeping and we hear loud banging on drums and bullhorn with yelling outside. The topic of protest was not the issue, because everyone has a right to speak up. It was the noise, length of time allowed to continue and the uncertainty of our and our son's safety and the dismissiveness. We went out early and dropped one of our party members at the airport and came back where the parking lot was slush covered with inches of water puddles throughout. My shoes were wet and so when we got back to our room, now our floor in our room was wet wherever we walked. This was by far unacceptable and when my husband mentioned the horrible walkway into the hotel, they were dismissive, so he also mentioned that he used to do that for a living.
We checked in after 9pm and checked out before 11am so all of this occurred in less than 14 hours. When we exited the building and checked out, there was a male (maintenance type of employee) and a female supervisor/lead at the front desk. The female was the same rude employee who was dismissive regarding the unsafe parking conditions. She was unapologetic and didn't even say goodbye, not qualities for hospitality front desk staff.
