I had a very disappointing experience at Prime Hotel South Beach. The hotel does not match what is advertised online at all. It is promoted as clean, well-maintained, and high quality, but in reality, it felt old, poorly maintained, and neglected.
The room was in bad condition: the floor was heavily scratched, the only chair provided was visibly stained, and the furniture looked worn out. In the bathroom, the sink had visible damage and cracks, and the shower did not even have a door. Overall cleanliness was unacceptable, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the property, similar to sweat.
I also felt unsafe during my stay. The room door only had a basic lock with no additional security, and the sliding door appeared to have tape holding the glass in place, which was very concerning. The hotel layout made things worse, as my room was on the first floor near what seemed to be an extension of the restaurant, making the hallway dark, unwelcoming, and uncomfortable—especially when accessing the elevator.
Due to all of these issues, I decided not to stay. I returned the key to the front desk the same day and never spent the night. I also reported the situation to Expedia immediately. This experience was completely different from what was advertised, and I would not recommend this hotel.
