Extremely Disappointed – Would Not Recommend
I typically don’t write reviews, but my recent experience at the Hyatt Regency was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share.
I booked my room a month in advance, with check-in scheduled for 4 PM on a Saturday. My family and I arrived back from our cruise at 9 AM that morning and attempted to check in early. The front desk staff informed me that a room should be ready within an hour and that I would receive a text once it was available.
An hour passed—no message. I understand that early check-in is based on availability and that rooms need to be cleaned, but I was told we were added to the waiting list and were second in line out of 37 people. By 1 PM, still nothing. I went back to the desk and was told they were running behind due to a large dance event, and no rooms were currently available. If that was the case, why was I told initially that one would be ready soon?
What’s the point of reserving and paying for a room in advance if you can’t honor the check-in time or communicate accurate wait times? To make matters worse, people who arrived after us were checked in before us, and we didn’t get into our room until after 5 PM.
The experience didn’t improve once we finally got the room—it was not properly cleaned, and overall, the staff came off as unprofessional and poorly organized.
If you're looking for fast, efficient service and a seamless stay, this is not the place. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend
