Strong unpleasant smell in the hotel, the bath was not clean, the smoke detector was removed and breakfast not available due to low numbers of guests at the hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly.

I’m military visiting from out of town and my stay was nice and cost efficient. The front desk was very polite and helpful. My check in was speedy with a smooth check out. I never really eat hotel breakfast so I can comment on that. I arrived and didn’t see anyone hanging around outside as stated by others so that was also a plus.

Sufficient Enough

I came in to the hotel with a locked front door (key only access) and no one at the front desk to let me in. Once let in by a young man I assumed was a guest, I stood at the desk for 3-5mins waiting to be checked in and given my room key. A disgruntled worker stormed into the lobby during my check in yelling and cursing at the man who was checking me in ( I assume the shift manager) . He did not apologize for the disruption. The elevator was broke and the low lit stairwell smelled heavily of urine and trash. My room was nice and clean and l felt like hit a one night stay, my accommodations were sufficient.

I went to my assigned room and smelled horrible, AC didn't work, and TV remote didn't work. Went back and got "upgraded" to a suite. Yes it was bigger, didn't smell as bad, AC worked OK, but the TV remote didn't work. Curtains for room and bathroom were disgusting (I felt bathroom curtain had blood on it). I felt the sheets were probably not even washed. I only stayed 1 night and asked for my money back for the remainder of my scheduled stay. The afternoon lady was really nice, she dropped off an Ironer for me, and totally understood the situation. 5 stars for her.

BEST PLACE EVERY

If I could give this place a 10/10, I absolutely would! Everyone here is so kind and welcoming. The pool was fantastic—my kid had a blast swimming. Plus, they have a working elevator, which was a lifesaver. I originally booked a stay at OYO Hotel Memphis TN I-40, but their elevator was out of order, and my mother, who has health issues, cannot use the stairs. That place was a nightmare. BUT when I explained the situation to AmericInn by Wyndham Memphis East, they were more than happy to accommodate us. They quickly got us into a room and even moved us to another one when we had trouble with the TV. Not only did they fix the issue right away, but they also replaced the light bulbs in our room without hesitation. I absolutely love this place, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who will listen!

They have a $50 refundable cash deposit for smoking ! So please don’t smoke in the rooms and so be aware of that whether you book online or walk in. We booked online and had no idea about the deposit! Other than that it’s average and the staff was pretty nice!

There were a lot of people just hanging around the property. It is not safe around the area. We rented three rooms and there was a guy knocking on my brothers door all night he was just hanging in the hallways. The staff were very nice and pleasant it’s too bad the surrounding area and people are not good.

The room I was given had cockroaches in the bathroom, I thought they were dead until they scurried around the toilet. The toilet had urine around the bottom that meets the floor. The room smelled like urine and weed. The towels are like dishrags, not towels. The Closet door was kicked in and had a huge hole. Dust on the furniture, the chair at the desk was peeling. Its littleraly 2am and I am afraid to go to sleep. I have never been to Memphis, and I had no idea where I was booking, but apparently its the worst area you can be. The staff member came up and walked me to a new room, a little cleaner and no roaches that I can see. He was kind and told me to check out and go to another area of Memphis that is safer.

Being renovated, friendly staff

We loved our stay here. The hotel is dated, but you can tell they are in the middle of renovations. Staff was very friendly. The listing says breakfast, but there is no food. Also, the pool is not open. It's completely drained. One elevator was down, but the other one worked fine. There were carts for luggage. The room was huge. Tv was big enough for watching from either the TV or the couch in the living room area. We didn't have great water pressure. Not sure if that was just our room.

Building Worn Out Do Not Stay here.

Staff is friendly. Bed was nice. But this hotel is a maintenance nightmare. Dirty carpet in hallways. Trash stacked up near the non-working elevators. My HVAC unit did not work and hasn’t worked in a long time. Someone tried to tape together a broken power cord. Breakfast is NOT included because they haven’t served breakfast in years. Vending machines don’t work. Cash deposit required. No card CASH. Burn out bulbs. Little or no hot water. In my opinion this is a flop house.

My son made the reservation but i was gonna pay when i got there but they charged his card. Bathroom was not clean someone came in with one rag to attempt to clean it. People hanging out the hotel all night and no outside security. Not safe for anyone with children.

OK, but missing things.

Room was fine, except that the smoke alarm was missing, just a bunch of wires hangin out of the ceiling. Property is well-worn and needs some upgrading. Room was clean and bed was fine, Website says that breakfast was included, but it was NOT. I was told the kitchen is being renovated, but seems like they could have offered muffins or donuts or something. No offer for a voucher or a room discount.

This property is one of several in the same location, which is conveniently off I-40. I chose it above the others because of the Wyndham name and an inexpensive room rate. On the positive side, the room was clean (although the property itself needed attention) and comfortable. However, the property is run down and needs some good TLC; I’d imagine that it was once a standout. The Travelocity listing stated that there is a pool. There is indeed an indoor pool (nice for Memphis winters), but it was drained. More importantly, the room I reserved was to include breakfast, but when I checked in I was told that there would be no breakfast. The room clerk seemed quite unconcerned about that lie. Going to a nearby Waffle House as an alternative added substantially to the nightly cost. So, one star is the best that I can offer. Furthermore, on a map the property looks like it’s on a small side road off I-40, but it’s actually on a major thoroughfare, so there was traffic noise and sirens all night long. On a return trip, I’d stay in the same general location but at a different property off the main thoroughfare that actually supplies the amenities that it advertises.

The place kinda smelled. One of the elevators was out of service and one of the side doors was jammed shut. Also our king sized bed only came with 2 very small pillows. there was a hole in our wall and the toilet didn't work properly

Very dirty and run down hotel. First tip would have been that you can not enter into the hotel without being buzzed in. Asked for a cash deposit of $50 upon checking in. Would not take anything else but cash. The shower had barley warm water, one towel and one pillow each for a king size bed. We left at 4 am the front desk required the original receipt from the $50 to return the money. Was never told that as the receipt was in the vehicle with my husband that was loading the truck. Elevator not working and over some of the signs with written profanities. Spend the extra and stay somewhere else.

Not bad for a quick overnight stay on a long road trip. Staff was extremely friendly. Only complaint about the room was there was visible mold present on the shower curtain which raised questions about the overall cleanliness of the room that I could not see with my eyes. Also there was no free breakfast as advertised, thankfully there’s a Waffle House within walking distance if you need coffee or some breakfast fuel before hitting the road again.

It was not a very clean hotel, it felt like a one star hotel, there was no security gate, random people just hang out outside the hotel, it felt like someone in the hotel was smoking some kind drugs in one of the rooms, I went into my room and left in within 5min of being there, I could not stay there, I just drove back to Atlanta with no sleep, it was safer
