"The staff were courteous on arrival and gave us a tour of the beautiful building before showing us to our room. The house and surrounding environment were superb. The room was comfortable and clean albeit a little too warm at night.
Our breakfast was tasty and varied served by a very polite young lady.
We enjoyed our brief stay very much and would recommend it to others. "

"The setting is beautiful and the staff amazing. We took our 2 Spaniels with us and stayed in a dog friendly suite. Room was huge and surprisingly warm considering it was a converted Castle. Breakfast in the morning was decent and you are within 25 mins of York. All in all a great trip and we will 100% stay here again. "

"Staff were impeccable. Food excellent.
Whole standard of the place was top class. Just a few minor points to note & could be improved - bedroom window could not be opened to let in fresh air & badly needed dusting. Not enough electrical sockets & could have been better positioned close to mirror for make up, hair etc. Other than that, it was a beautiful atmospheric and classy hotel and full of character. "

"The room was very comfortable and impeccably clean. Access was easy using the door enrty codes provided. Wifi was good and easy to log onto. The Guest house was also vey quiet, with no disturbances.
I used the breakfast room before I left, and ate granola, greek yoghurt and blueberries with a Coffee latte. These were dispensed from a vending machine, but were fresh and tasted lovely. Bowls, mugs and cuttlery were available.
The staff I met were also friendly and chatty.
I would highly recommend...

"The staff are always welcoming from day one. We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and found it a very enjoyable experience. There has been the odd little glitch but rectified right away. The only one problem we found that if you don't want to use your car and want to use the bus service you have to walk into barnsley interchange to go anywhere its a 20 minute walk across a very busy roundabout and road. The rooms are always very clean and tidy but still an excellent place to stay. "
