"We booked Surf Rider based on the strong reviews, especially the repeated mentions of great hospitality-but unfortunately, our experience didn't reflect that at all. The rooms are extremely small, and the noise from PCH is constant and very loud, making it difticult to relax or sleep. I asked if there was any possibility of moving to a quieter room, but the only option offered was to pay an additional $450-$1000, which felt unreasonable. "Check-in experience was great and the staff was friendly. Shower had the least amount of pressure we've ever experienced at a hotel of any sort. It also sprayed from all different angles, getting the bathroom floors wet. :( Although we tried to tighten the shower head, nothing seemed to help. Bedroom was spacious, clean, beds and pillows were comfortable. If we stayed again, I'd call ahead and make sure the shower in my room is going to be working better."
