"Really lovely place. Very quiet and peaceful. A bit off the beaten track but still only half an hour away from Bristol. Really comfortable bed, and I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages. I wouldn’t say this if it wasn’t true! Only one minor point is that the shower head was a bit too low for me, as I’m around 6’ tall."

"The George is a really cute historic inn that is situated in a quiet, magical little village - it is literally right across the street from the ruin of a Norman castle. While you need to leave town to get to Frome or Bath, the bus stop is located right outside the inn. It has a friendly little pub that serves good food and is frequented by guests and locals. "On arrival there was road works outside the hotel which we were unaware of. I had messaged to ask where to park but got no answer. The parking is payable across the road and behind some houses. The hotel building is very old and the bar area is quite nice. The two young lads on the bar were very nice and friendly. The room we had was in need of decoration and updating, not in good shape. We had drinking facilities provided but I’d advise take your own as the ones given were to certain tastes....

I have seen some reviewers complain about the variety but seriously what do you expect at this price. Our room was ok but very very warm. "Room was good, bed comfy, shower worked well. It’s in the middle of town so there is some noise, especially on a Saturday night, but to be expected. Checking in was easy although it would have been helpful to have two room keys. The woman on the desk did not seem entirely in the same world as everyone else. Parking can be a problem but usually can park in town square (which you need to pay for, either in cash/card or by downloading the local app). Place fairly clean, tables for breakfast...

"Really close to Silver Parking at the airport. Quiet room, very well laid out. Only recommendation would be to add a grab bar in the wet room - the whole floor was wet after my shower which meant that using the loo and handbasin, the floor was slippery. Otherwise can't fault it and will definitely use again"
