The service was excellent. The father and son proprietors were a great source of information about the city of Lugano.
The hotel, though comfortable enough, was hard to sleep in. it was downtown, which was great for location, but not so good for noise. It's an older hotel, and hasn't been soundproofed.
The noise didn't only come from outside the hotel - the walls let in noise from the hallway and adjoining rooms.
Being close to the breakfast room, though convenient, made sleeping past 0700 difficult because of the noise.
But, after deciding to use our earplugs the second night, we slept better. :)
In spite of the noise, we greatly enjoyed ourselves there. Being close to the center of town is great for access to the cultural events, the water, and the public transportation was great, and again, the proprietors and the other staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.
