The room and staff were fine, though there is not a full-time desk person after 7:00PM and on the weekends. The biggest surprise (Not a good one) There is no elevator, so bringing up your baggage can be a problem. But it is in a great location and is very affordable.

No recomendaría el hotel

Cuando llegamos al hotel para hacer el check-in, el señor que estaba en la recepción no nos hizo sentir para nada bienvenidos y su actitud hacia nosotros fue deplorable. No sabía español ni inglés y nosotros no sabíamos italiano, así que traté de hacerme entender con aplicaciones de traducción, pero él nos decía con señas (y no muy amablemente) que no estábamos en la lista de reservas y que él no sabía usar la computadora. Luego, por suerte, otras personas que se estaban alojando en el hotel nos hicieron favor de traducirnos lo que decía el señor, y hacerle saber que nosotros sí teníamos una reserva. Les indicó que su jefe estaba a la vuelta, en un restaurante en el que también era gerente y nos teníamos que comunicar con él, así que tuvimos que ir al restaurante a buscar a alguien que sí nos entendiera y nos pudiera atender. El gerente fue muy amable con nosotros, se disculpó y nos proporcionó nuestra habitación. La habitación no contaba con aire acondicionado, y el ventilador no era tan potente como para refrescarnos del calor de una noche de verano. Al día siguiente cuando nos íbamos, revisé debajo de la cama para ver si habíamos dejado algo y me di cuenta que estaba lleno de polvo. Aunque ya en el check-out nos atendió otra persona que también fue muy amable, le cobraron a mi esposo 10 euros más de lo que habíamos elegido en la página, que supuestamente ya venía con impuestos incluidos. De esto nos dimos cuenta hasta que ya nos habíamos retirado.

Sono tornata a questo hotel che già conoscevo. La posizione e' eccezionale a due passi dalla chiesa di san Michele. I proprietari sono molto gentili e disponibili. Forse è un po' datato ed andrebbe ristrutturato, ma a me va bene anche cosi!😃

Piccolo Hotel Puccini is located just outside of the main piazza in Lucca, and affords an excellent landing space after exploring the city's sites and enjoying a hearty Tuscan dinner and drink. The hotel was extremely clean and easy to locate, and the staff were exceptionally helpful in finding parking for our rental car (only a 10 minute walk outside the old city walls). Breakfast is served onsite, if you'd like it, but the hotel is also close to dozens of pasticcerie and bars, should you choose to go elsewhere. The only drawback is that Piccolo Hotel Puccini does not have air conditioning or a strong fan for keeping cool in the summer. It's possible to open the windows at night for some cooler air, but the hotel's proximity to the main piazza ensures that it will be quite loud late into the night.

Great little hotel

Amazing little hotel in the heart of Lucca. As soon as we arrived by taxi the owner of the hotel was out like a flash bringing bags in for us and giving us info about the area. Bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Price was excellent.

Great place to stay

Great small hotel and centrally located. Room was modern and clean. Staff were courteous and helpful. It's walkable to the train station through the old town in 15 minutes
