"The room was extremely clean and quiet and spacious. It had added touches like full size, shampoo, conditioner and body wash available to guests. There is no food on site and the restaurant across the street is closed on mondays and tuesdays. We went to Charlie's which is walkable. It was okay, but a little more on the expensive side. You also need to make reservations online, which I didn't know until I luckily looked up their menu.
The Mountain Inn doesn't have a pool or hot tub, which makes it an affordable place to stay. But with no amenities.
So if you're looking for a clean and quiet place to relax and sleep, this would be your place. There are also sidewalks nearby for walking safely."
"Everything was amazing. This was the second time we have stayed here and it was just as great as the first time. Now if you're looking for fancy 5 star hotel this is not it. Yet the staff are 5 stars and even the stay was 5 stars. It's a place to relax and sleep after long days on the north shore. I will keep coming back"
"Can’t beat the location if you want to walk to bars and restaurants. Manager was extremely responsive to questions/requests. If you’re looking for the 4 seasons this one ’s not for you but if you like a quirky Airbnb that’s managed well, clean and has a great location this one’s for you!"
"We stayed for 2 days at the lodge. Our room was great! It was very clean and great location. We went over for breakfast and it was just a short walk away. The view of Lake Superior was really nice and we sat outside and enjoyed the view with a cold drink. We will definitely be coming back."
"The staff was so helpful and the location is perfect! You could walk to anywhere in town. It is a old building so my expectations were not super high but if you go in with that mindset you will be happy. The only 2 things I would say would be that they need blackout shades on the windows especially the ones facing the East side, and then the ice machine ran out of ice so quickly that it couldn't keep up with demand from all the guests (maybe a bigger machine with more capacity). We would stay here again!"
