The staff were exceptionally gracious and friendly and just wonderful. The concierges, especially Ash and Valence and those whose names I did not get, and all of the staff were so wonderful that it felt like coming home whenever we got back to the hotel. And also the wait staff at Corvo. I just can’t say enough about our stay there. I would give it 10 stars if I could. The only inconvenience was that there were not enough trash cans in the room. As all blip, hardly worth mentioning.

The first impression of our check in with Esther was great. She informed us that it's early but she has a room ready that we could get, but cautioned us that the room is too small and we should check it out. We did and concurred with Esther. We went back down and Esther was busy, so we explained the situation to Elena - Esther's colleague - and she questioned our explanation and showed it with her complete body language and the things she said that she didn't believe us. Esther thank god was done with her check in and turned towards us and said "I knew you wouldn't like it, glad you came back down". Elena just made a face and said she would check us in later. We were fine with it and headed out. Unfortunately Elena didn't check us in and we got the same small room just 2 doors down on the same floor when we came back in the evening. She could have easily assigned us a room but she didn't. I can only assume from her behavior that she didn't want to assign us a room and getting us a bigger one. I have worked in hotels at the reception, I know how it works and this behavior is unacceptable. The hotel is nice and Esther was great but Elena tainted the whole experience and I don't think we will ever go back there. They are other hotels around them in the same area. The reception is the first impression a hotel guest has when entering a hotel and it was great we Esther, but changed shortly the exchange we had with Elena.

The hotel was central to where we needed to be. I was cross that we were woken up at 6.25 with a phone call and then the maid knocked at 8.50 to crown our room even tho we were checking out at 11. The hotel itself is ok in a lovely spot by the Tower of London but that spoilt it as we had been out the night before as it was my husbands birthday and we didn’t appreciate being woken up

The hotel is very nice, clean, friendly staff and within walking distance to shopping, sightseeing and restaurants. The only inconvenience is that room bathroom has no storages space at all, hence tgev4 stars. I would definitely stay there again.
