"We had a great stay! The room was very clean and spacious. There is no AC, but we were able to open the windows and get a nice breeze. The pool area was great for a swim. The location is near the beach and restaraunts."

"I chose Ester Lee’s Family Oceanview Cottage primarily for the view and the kitchen. We stayed in room 231. The view is incredible and made everything else worth it. We went when it was colder, so the lack of A/C wasn’t an issue at all. At that elevation and proximity to the coast, the ocean breeze keeps the place cool very nicely. The staff was very courteous and attentive to our needs throughout our stay. Also, the beds were particularly comfortable, so much so that I looked them up and they are indeed made by a reputable local builder. That was a very pleasant surprise for all of us. I recognize that following might be considered knit picky, but I wanted to let others know so they can decide: Most obviously, this is an old motel, so it really looks and feels like an old cottage. It was clean enough, but if you look carefully you’ll find some mildew here and dust there and it’s a little musty (but not too bad). Some of the windows in our room were almost rusted in place. We had to use some elbow grease to close and open them. Probably the worst aspect of the place was discovering that the only pan provided was encrusted with what looked like years of oil and dirt. I wouldn’t dare use it. I requested a clean one, but did not receive one. I’d recommend bringing your own pans if you plan to cook. Overall, this was a great place to stay and I’d recommend it. Just keep the above in mind."

"We really enjoyed our stay. We arrived before check in and we're greeted by the front desk staff who took our number to keep us updated about our room. The beach access and location was awesome. The rooms were clean and cozy. The only complaint was there was no air-conditioning or fan to circulate the room. That afternoon sunset is nice but certainly makes it warm. The pool and hot tub was a highlight to the trip. We have found the hotel we will be staying at for our next trip. My son can't stop talking about how much fun he had."

"Pros: I love Anchor Inn for it's history, whimsical decoration, pet-friendlyness and the special touches the owners/management add to your stay. I like that it's small and more private than your average hotel/motel. Cons: In the future, I will not stay in the main building, but will request a cabin. You could hear lots of noise in the room we stayed in this time. Furniture scooting around; kids running up and down halways; people going up and down stairs. Old building is not insulated well for noise. Lady in the restaurant wasn't super friendly. Pet fees are steep. Nightly fee- per dog."
