"The hotel was in a nice position for the beach and the town. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms were a little tired and expensive for what they were."

"The decor is over the top kitch with lots of black, purple and silver so it won't be to everyone's taste. The larger rooms in the old part of the property are poorly lit and have free standing baths which take up loads of space while the actual bathroom is cramped but they have plenty of seating and big windows. I also like that the beds are low rather than the high ones that have become the fashion. The food is really good, both at breakfast and at dinner and the staff are friendly and helpful. They tend to have intrusive and unneccessary music playing which is a shame but it's the same almost everywhere one goes"

"We initially had some confusion regarding the location of the property - the postcode shown on the hotels.com listing suggests that it is in the middle of Saltburn but it is actually 15 minutes away - the correct postcode is TS13 4TB, and the property is at the very bottom of the single-track lane. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and the living area in particular was very comfortable. Beds were comfortable and the location was lovely and peaceful. There were some issues with the electrics whilst we were there, but the owner was very responsive and arranged for an electrician to come out the following day."
