"Great location near old town and rail station! Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and functional room. Only negative was that the room was very warm and the temperature control didn’t seem to be working. I wasn’t there during the day so I just opened the window to let in Cool air for the night."

"The hotel was functional, all the basics were there, not luxuriously glamourous, but I don't want that. It was all clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good, but the self-service area was too small for such crowds of people, especially for wheelchair users who were having difficulty to manoeuvre in the narrow space. I arrived at 1.00am, late due to train holdups, and would have liked something to eat, but there were no snacks available. I enjoyed my stay, and would stay again."

"A lovely property with tasteful decor. All the staff are very pleasant. Palm Court restaurant was really nice, and the gym and swim facilities were good. The Sunday carvery is excellent and complimentary products in the room a nice touch. Not a lot of seating in the bar if wanting drinks only, most of it is for eating. Similarly, car parking is at a premium with a wedding on. Changing rooms are quite small, and could do with a spin machine for drying trunks (many have these now)."

"I was a bit surprised to be put in a room on the old side of the hotel - a bit souless. I'm sure the more modern side to the hotel is nice, but I didn't get to see it"

"When I turned on to the drive I was struck by the stunning tudor style building and grounds. I received a warm welcome from the friendly staff when I checked in, and clear directions on how to get to my room. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The decor was a little dated, but you could argue inkeeping for the period of the property. The grounds are stunning."

Check in and out was easy - no faffing. Easy access to free buses and taxi pick up right outside. Bar open 24/7 for residents. All round good value."

Breakfast was nice and I got to sit in (lovely) separate dining area, as I had my Goldendoodle with me, which I was happy with, as it meant I could chill as he had lots of space to lie down. My only negative was we had to pay for parking at £13 (for 24 hrs I think). It was just an expense I hadn't expected. Other than that, everything was great. Would definitely go back if in that area again."

"Has a wonderful stay and will definitely go back! Staff exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Excellent location for everything. Only two very minor suggestions would be some charging points by the bed, failing that a plug socket. Plus, it would be nice to have a few more veggie options for breakfast. The veggie sausages were the old fashioned potato with veg in kind not a good old Quorn or something similar. Plus I had to ask for it which was a little awkward. However even without these...
