Perfect location to see Kumamoto Castle - Make sure to book a castle view room!! Great breakfast, and convenient location. Beautiful rooftop garden for amazing views.

It's right across from Kumamoto Castle Park. I wish I had booked a room on the castle view side, as there's not much to see from the other side. But the room was nice and remodeled in lovely greens. Very relaxing. I reserved a single room, but was given a twin room. Loved all the space and large bathroom with full suze bathtub.

Excellent view of Kumamoto castle from the room. Breakfast was decent. Overall hotel is showing its age though and its not in the best location overall (we drove so it didn't matter so much).

Beautiful views of Kumamoto Castle day and night with the best breakfast buffet every morning! Loved that they had Kumamoto specific foods on the breakfast buffet and great mix of Japanese and western cuisine. There was ample parking and very easy to get to and from different locations around Kyushu. Bathrooms in the rooms are a little on the older side but still work just fine. Would stay again the next time we visit the area!

Wonderful view!
Our room had a stunning view of the castle at both day and night. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and staff were friendly and helpful. If you have limited time in Kumamoto city but want to maximise your sightseeing opportunities, I think this is the perfect base.

We always stay here since the views of Kumamoto Castle are terrific, the buffet breakfast is superb and the rooms are relatively spacious. Highly recommended!

Great place with a view
Extraordinarily, we got a room with a view o Kumamoto castle. The room was clean and comfortable with great breakfast also looking at the castle with a garden.

A Room With An Outstanding View
It was a very pleasant stay and the view was amazing. From the hotel room, we had a picture-perfect view of Kumamoto Castle. That was a key highlight. The room was comfortable, but the hotel felt too big and formal for the type of travel I was doing. I felt a little out of place, as it is a very elegant event/banquet hotel (clearly designed to host weddings). Nonetheless, it was clean, comfortable, quiet, beautifully located right across the street from the castle, and the staff were exceptionally professional, efficient, and courteous. I parked a car, and the daily rate was reasonable. I would gladly stay at this hotel again.

My stay was excellent! The hotel was beautiful and I had a wonderful view of Kumamoto Castle from my room window. The staff were fantastic and accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend the KKR Hotel.

The staff is very friendly and kind. Check in, parking, etc. were a breeze. The hotel also has a direct view of Kumamoto Castle, and that’s really great. Especially for the price, you can’t beat it.

Staff was friendly and professional. Breakfast buffet was mainly Japanese food but there were Western options - all tasted great. The hotel is right next to Kumamoto castle and I enjoyed breakfast with the great view of the castle. I booked castle view room and I recommend that to all travelers. There is a coin laundry room and no need to bring own detergent. It is close to the center of the city - appx 7 minutes walk from city hall. Room was super clean and spacious and affordable. I recommend this hotel.

Great location
Great location - down the hill from the castle and a short walk to the main arcades. The walls are a little thin (can sometimes hear noisy neighbors), but the bed is super soft and the wifi is strong.

It's not a new hotel but everything is obviously well taken care of; great condition. It is right beside the castle, even you can't see the castle from your room, you definitely able to see it at the breakfast place.

Kumamoto castle just at the front of this hotel, we walked in this castle park for a while in the morning time, it’s really beautiful! Breakfast is delicious also with nice view! Will definitely recommend my friends n related persons come to Kumamoto n stay here!

Hotel is just next to the Kumamoto Castle grounds. Quiet and a 4-star hotel. We had Japanese breakfast that included some western items. Paid parking in hotel. Nice to go for a short walk at park just across the road.

Beautiful view that we could see Kumamoto castle from room. Bit far to convince store (10mins walk) and not easy for the pram. It took about 40mins walk from Hakata station.
