Top Lake Meredith National Recreation Area Hotel Reviews
Route 66 Inn
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at the Route 66 Inn in Amarillo basically because we wanted the experience of a bygone era. The person at the front desk (owner or manager) mentioned that it was originally built in the late 70's. That was obvious from the over all appearance and design but it ended there. It had been so well taken care of, restored, whatever you want to call it, - both inside and out - that it was a treat. The experience did not disappoint us. The staff was very friendly and definitely wanted our stay of be positive. Just the thought that this was around in the days when 66 was the Main Street of America gave it even more of an emphasis. In fact we enjoyed our initial stay so much that on our way back home through Amarillo we checked in a second time. I'm sure there will in the future be a third."
"Staff was nice, guy at desk made some suggestions for food, the free breakfast was kinda sad but the waffle machine saved it. The TV didn't work, powered on to some advertising channel but changing channel just stuck on error screen and guide button and arrow buttons did nothing. Only stayed the night while driving so didn't bother seeking help. It's a TV, shouldn't be that difficult to operate!"
"Perfect place to stay for our stop over heading back to Round Rock. Darling room, nice big TV, clean room, and walking distance to the Big Texas steakhouse ranch right next door.
We had the king bed room and it was very nice.
Will definitely stay here again!"
