"Staff are approchable and went to the trouble of wishing one of our party birthday wishes following a throw away comment about the reason for our visit. There was a wedding function the weekend we stayed and there was no distruption or loud noises. Very relaxed atmosphere and very good breakfast. The evening menu is a little limited in choice but we found the quality of food good."

"Hotel certainly fine, but our room (128) was terribly placed for being woken at 6am by pounding techno music and someone screaming over a PA system to motivate a gym class …. Had an early morning appointment in the vicinity and only stayed in hotel so I could get a long lie instead of waking up at 6am at home …. If you like sleeping at 6am you’d be advised to ask to stay on a higher floor or the other end… no idea where the sound was coming from but once it woke us up it was too annoying to get...

"The receptionist was far from welcoming - very matter of fact. I enquired to see if there was any cancellation with a dog friendly room - shrugged her shoulders and that was a no - not even I am sorry. Bar staff where we could take a dog was over the top - as we walked in announced to whole bar we were walking in - there was a very loud child approx 9 yrs old who he was encouraging to be even louder - we moved table. We have stayed here a few times but will not be back."

"We stayed in a beautiful room with a view of the river which was spotlessly clean. The staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for them, even providing a cooked breakfast one hour early on our departure day. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone."

"We enjoyed a lovely weekend break in this beautiful Victorian Country House Hotel. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Food in the restaurant was delicious, well presented, and good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"Stayed overnight at a very good rate while attending a concert at the P&J nearby. Very warm welcome from receptionist, room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good if a little chaotic when so many arrived at once, but staff were excellent and efficient in dealing with the rush. Very impressed and would definitely stay again."

"Wanted to use the gym, didnt as it was only open after 8am due to it being "amongst rooms and it makes noise"....move it then! Room was clean and spacious, it was cold on entry, but did warm up with heating. Gym not being open was a disappointment. Website said open from 7am, staff said not open until 8am."

"Lovely room but sadly no hot water in the morning to have showers. Staff apologised but didn’t seem to take onboard that our stay was spoiled.Food at lunchtime was delicious but breakfast wasn’t the same standard. "
