"We loved this hotel. It is just a 20 minute walk, and five minutes on transit from the main touristy district. We prefer not to be right in the center of the tourist district, because the restaurants are all a rip off, and it is noisy. The Up Hotel has lots of little shops and cafes around it that locals use. "We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Opera Garden Hotel. It is ideally located for visiting all the main sites in the centre of Budapest. We walked everywhere and only used public transport once: to get to and from the Széchenyi Baths, which was very easy (7 stops on Metro Line 1 from Opera to Szechenyi Furdo). The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars was the less than enthusiastic front desk and breakfast staff. They were fine- but not welcoming or enthusiastic to make your stay special. Overall a really good hotel at a moderate price point. Would recommend for sure."
