It's close to the town, which has good izakaya and other options if you're not on a meal plan. There is also a Lawson close-by. "This is a beautiful Ryokan, and even though the facilities are not brand new they are not lacking. Breakfast was very good and the Onsen were very spacious and felt the most new out of all the area."
