"The cottage is in a great location to access all parts of the island. Decor and furnishing are on the basic side, but this is more than reflected in the price. The garden has lovely views - a picnic table is provided but I suggest taking your own camping chairs for more comfy, longer term seating. The cottage is on a B road with some traffic at times but the noise was not intrusive, and was non-existent overnight. "We had a lovely stay at the chequers Inn, Rookley. The staff were great, couldn't do enough for us."

"Room was much bigger than expected (possibly an upgrade) and seemed to have been recently renovated. Spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was included although my invoice stated room only. Apparently all rooms here include breakfast which was very good. Highlight really was the friendliness of staff which is probably because it’s an independent property and they genuinely want to make guests feel welcome. "

"No air conditioning but there was a dyson fan and a heater. Room had a coffee machine, mini fridge, hairdryer and a handheld steamer. We stayed in a room overlooking the harbour and it was very quiet. You couldn't hear any noise from the pub next door. Room was modern and very clean. The bed was huge (king) and very comfortable. There were places nearby to get breakfast and is very close to a Sainsbury and M&S food (Apr26)."

"The hotel was lovely, and Linda & Des were VERY welcoming and accommodating. They have a little “shop” where you can buy toiletries, wine, drinks, crisps, snacks etc which was very convenient. The breakfasts were AMAAAAZING - lots of options! The only down side was the water was not hot and the water pressure in the shower was low."

"Kind of okay, but some of the staff were really bothered if you need anything or ask them a question. At the pub the staff were a bit weird and made us feel not welcomed. Most of them looked very tense and wanted you to get out of their faces quickly. Some of them were good. They should leave more milk bags in the rooms."
