"A lovely hotel with great staff, great breakfast "

"Entertaining stay! The hotel itself is really nice, it's very clean and tidy throughout, which is so important to me personally. My room was roomy and had all that I required for a one night stay, even longer would have been fine also. the bathroom while a mixture of modern and old fashioned, again was fine for my stay, it had a lovely walking show fitted with a rain head, which was all very nice, toilet & sink though were a horrid pink, bit functional, although the cold tap had to be turned in the wrong directionion to make it work, which is like to see replaced with a new set, so they worked as expected. Breakfast was excellent, the quality of the produce used was excellent and this alone would make me return for another stopover, which I shall. My only criticism is that the fire alarm went off just after midnight, which turned into a right nightmare, as there was noone on site form the hotel itself, so 4 of us were left to try and resolve the problem, which resulted in the fire brigade having to attend and reassure us that we could rest easy for the rest of the night, what a bloody pain that was in the early hours. "

"Lovely warm welcome,having arrived on foot as we were walking around the island. Room newly and nicely decorated and very clean. Biscuits in room and coffee machine were nice extra touches. Excellent menu choice for breakfast . Evening meal choice also good and nicely cooked. We loved the sea view from the bedroom"

"The property needs attention to detail, mould around ceiling of bathroom, loose light fitting in bathroom where plaster kept falling out, loose socket in bedroom, curtains with food stains on them. Extractor hood covered in dust. Large dip in floor to main bedroom. Lovely quiet park until 20 mins before check out when they wanted to empty the hot tub. Parking space right for a bigger vehicle and the door lock to the lounge doors extremely stiff. Great location but just needs that attention to detail if had paid full high season price would have definitely been asking for a reduction or change. "

"We had an excellent stay at St Maur. The rooms are large spotlessly clean with fantastic ensuite facilties and a balcony with outstanding views. Parking is avaliable and hotel ideally situated for walking to the Botanic Gardens and Steephill Cove. The Owner and staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. Such a friendly homely atmosphere."

"The Accomodation has all amenities and comfort including large bath and the nice touch of a DVD collection. Kitchen has all you need. But it is completely blind (there are windows but you need to keep blinds down so it’s dark!) which the listing avoided showing with great success. We were imagining a small stable with an open space or a bit of a view but even the back mini courtyard is completely fenced off and the windows give onto a passageway. The stable is actually two accommodations so neighbours are super close then outside the front door is a functioning stable which is lovely but leaves no place to wander. The village and the area are outstanding. If you are going to be mostly out this Accomodation is functional and pleasant but pretty enclosed therefore the low star rating. Bedding was a low point."
