"The location is great and very convenient, but unfortunately that’s the only positive. The host never responded to any messages, making communication extremely difficult. The property photos — many items shown are old, broken, or completely unusable. There was no outdoor lighting, and the glasses were dusty and poorly maintained. Wouldn’t recommend staying here unless the location is your only priority.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​"

"I really love my stay in Laforet Shuzenji. The in-room onsen was a GOD SEND and the rooms are really clean. However, I would only encourage travelers who are driving to only stay there as the road up to the hotel is really far and dark in the night. There is a shuttle bus but it doesnt come very frequent. Restaurants and convenience stores are mostly not anywhere near to the hotel. Even check in counters are located some distance away from your designated chalet rooms. While my experience in the hotel are great, there was a night which we left our food trash in a bag outside our room. We were surprised that some unwanted guest ( i guess it was the wild boars) came rummaging in the night while we were asleep and the whole corridor was messed. So please be careful about it. The amenities were very well provided with all the onsen towels and they even had kimono for little children. All in all, I really love my stay in Laforet and will certainly return if I am back in Izu."
