Friendly staff day and night. We have stayed there a couple of times now and would definitely return.

The room was clean (apart from a stained carpet), the bed was comfy and the staff lovely but the rooms, lighting and corridors are quite depressing and unwelcoming.

All in all for the price and needing a night away I’d say you can’t go wrong. Decent price. Decent rooms. Front of house staff very polite. Just lacked a decent food and drink offering but all in all. Good value.

although its the run of the milll Hotel its clean friendly comfortable and close to the centre of hull.

This place needs updating. Dirty and falling to bits. Go to TRAVEL LODGE cheaper and more modern and cleaner. Will never stay there again. Staff were lovely and excellent service from them.

Absolutely ace, everything you would except.
To capitalise on the prompting words…. I would say ‘amazing’ rooms were exactly what you would expect from a go to chain of hotels… clean rooms, advertised amenities above par… polite and attentive staff… and the obvious hull charm lovely people and whitty banter you would only ever find in such a city.

Lack of communication.
Breakfast on first day no problem. On second, we were told by staff we had not paid for the breakfast we were eating. Then the manageress confronted us in a loud voice so that other guests could hear, and said we had not paid for breakfast. Very embarrassing, What went wrong with the booking system please? Please send an answer to me.

Lovely staff in a dated building.
Service was friendly and excellent but this is a tired old hotel and not nearly worth the £70 a night that I paid.

Good for the price.
The room was tidy and clean though perhaps a little 'tired'. It was comfotable for an overnight stay and I would happily use this hotel again.

1. To start with, when you arrive, there is mo place to park so that you can drop off your bags. 2. There was no one at the counter. Took 5 minutes with a quick toilet break before I get served. 3 parking is public and it is 2 blocks away 4. Room is average. I am very sure that white collar crime prison looks better than the room. It’s dark and dingy, and I can feel the bacteria crawling underneath the feet 5. As I was assigned to ground floor, I open up to fence.(so no difference to prison) 6 as there is no parking right in front, a small wrong turn means I have to make a 20 minutes circle around the city just to get back to the entrance of the hotel. 7 I checked out after 30 minutes and when I spoke to Expedia, they told me that ibis told them That I have not check out according to their system, after 12 hours…. Wow I checked in for 15 minutes for me to decide to go look for a hotel. And I upgraded myself to Doubletree By Hilton just to buy myself some Love after seeing Ibis.

I am sorry to hear that you was disappointed with your experience at Ibis Hull. Unfortunately we do not have parking at the hotel which is stated on Expedia and we recommend a local carpark. Due to the current roadworks in the city centre which are beyond our control the parking can be difficult to find if the turning is missed. When walking to/from the hotel to/from the carpark it is less than a 1 minute walk.All of our rooms overlook either the road or the yard area at the back of the hotel. The fence you are describing separates the garden area from the public footbath and was put in place to stop members of the public seeing into the bedrooms. The fence is at least 4 metres from the window. If you had preferred a room on a higher floor then you could have asked at reception. I am sorry that you did not give us the opportunity to rectify the issues you raised and I hope you enjoyed your time in Hull.Kind RegardsPhil WoodsGeneral Manager

The staff were excellent and helpful, especially Lynda as I was visiting the hospital daily, just found the area scary as a single woman and so got taxis to and from the hospital each day/night

Smoking in Rooms?
Normally a decent stay in the lower floor rooms. Got a 3rd floor room which smelt of cigarettes. Our friends in another room discovered that the smoke alarm was covered up with tape!

Ibis hull central stay
The room was a good size but smelt of cigatettes and Im a non smoker...needed some painting and the heater serviiced and fixed as it was cold in the evenings... You hear everyomes door closing so maybe some cushioning in tbe doors so you dont here them close shut The bed was just right and the shower was lovely and big...naybe thicker carpets so you dont hear the upstairs...but as fir a 2 star it was good....

You get what you pay for
The room and service was nice. However, other people were noisy through the night with constant banging, slamming doors and shouting. By midnight, I wanted to go home. The breakfast was cold and coffee not that great either.

Our stay was good although the hotel was noisy.Our room was above the staff smoking area and staff entrance. There must also be an issue with the water pipes as they were very loud. The staff were lovely,very welcoming and helpful

Room was basic- there was only a bin in the bathroom & we even struggled to find that! Tea tray contents are dire- unbranded tea bags are a huge no-no. The air-con unit made a high pitch screeching noise intermittently even when switched off The wall light switches were really confusing- they fidnt seem to control anything The corridor absolutely stank of a bleach/chlorine type smell but nothing was apparent Communal areas decor was tired/dated Bedding was nice & clean but the sheet wasnt fitted on the bed properly and the mattress topper was poking out the side. Good to have opportunity of extra pillows Outside the hotel felt very intimidating- lots of people hung around the entrance doors- mainly smoking. Very little to do in the immediate area. Adhacent multi-story parking was only £3 for 24hrs which was brilliant.
