"Although the property was older it was clean , I'll give it that. However when we arrived the pool was closed ,( which was a big part of what hotel we chose ). We were told the 1st day it was a chemical issue and should be open the next day , which did not happen . The second day we were told by maintenance definatly by morning, we had left early that morning so before we returned later that night a called the 888 number to see if the pool had reopened. The representative scoffted at me and...

"The views are breathtaking. It’s a perfect blend of history with beautiful gardens. The historians at Middleton did such a great job to honor and share past stories, making this vacation not only a relaxing one, but also interesting. We enjoyed the weather greatly, the nightly snacks and drinks were a great addition- what a way to share a sunset on our anniversary trip! We might not be back right away, but will tell others to visit- 100% recommend as a relaxing adult getaway."

"Little disappointed in this hotel. It wasnt TERRIBLE by any means but... There is just 1 very small ans slow elevator. The pool area was a complete let down. No lounging chairs, the 2 they had were up against wall broken in half and the only other seating is 2 tables with chairs which were occupied my entire stay. My card was charged 3x for transactions they couldnt explain. They finally convinced me that the charges would fall off. A week later and 2 of the charges havent fell off and show...

"I love staying at the Ryder Hotel. I travel a lot for work and it’s the perfect place to stay. Close walking distance to anything. They have a cute coffee shop in the hotel as well as a restaurant. The pool is always nice too! Highly recommend this hotel"

"Nice sized room. Friendly and helpful staff. Gym was okay, just needs a pulley system to make it more complete. There was some construction going on, so the water was off most of the day."

"We were always greeted when we came in and sometimes when we left. Everything was clean and well kept. There were plenty of choices for breakfast. The bathroom was roomy and bright. Could’ve used a make up mirror though. We would definitely stay here again!"

"First time I have stayed at this property. It was as good as my previous experience with this chain. It is a perfect location if you are going to a concert across the street at the coliseum. It’s like a five minute walk! The staff is very friendly, as well."

"The hotel is in an excellent location to MUSC, West Ashley, and James Island. Our room had a beautiful view back toward MUSC and the city. The desk agents were friendly and helpful. While the rooms have been updated there needs to be better maintenance given the older nature of the property. I would stay at this property again but I hope they’ll invest in maintenance a bit more."
