We loved the setting among the Egret birds and lovely trees. Very tropical. The pool and beach access was excellent.

Lovely resort, poor customer service.

We stayed 5 nights at Shipyard resort which was wonderful. The checkin process and resort facilities were excellent and included bikes and a thoughtful list of provisions for the property, beach towels etc. so would recommend the property. However, they took a deposit on checkin which they said would be released at the end of our stay so not impressed when they charged me on the checkout day. Once home, I had to call them 3 times and sent 2 emails to the manager asking for a refund which were all ignored so I was very unimpressed with the customer service and lack of urgency. I ended up reporting it to my credit card company who stepped in and fínally got it refunded after 20 days! A stressful end to a lovely holiday.

The accommodations were neat and clean ..However was very disappointed in the security and staff of this resort .. they were rude and unhelpful and made the stay less enjoyable for sure . They allowed our cars through the gate and gave us tags for our cars , our traveling companion also received a parking tag and he drove his truck and boat through the security gate and onto the property . They proceeded to put a warning ticket on the truck at 5:30am and then at 6:15 put a parking boot on his vehicle. After waiting an hour for the security staff to come on the truck to remove the boot they were very unprofessional and continued to call us liars and that there was no way we drove the boat through the security gate. There mess up and they still charged us $100 to remove a boot on the truck that they allowed in with the boat. Will not be staying here again and hope others know of the type people they have working there

Spinnaker Resort

Unit was nice with a lovely view of lagoon. Bedrooms are good size and living space was more than large enough for 4 adults. We stayed in this same unit last year and also enjoyed it then.

Very nice condominium

We stayed at Egret Point and our condo was very enjoyable.. The King Sized beds were very comfortable. It was an incredibly beautiful location. We were missing some basics like plates and toner in the printer, but overall it was very nice. I wish we had closer access to the private beach, and closer access to a front desk. The bike paths and walking areas were wonderful.

Great time away

We arrived after a long hard drive on 95 after dark and not in a good mood. Staff at resort very friendly and helpful. Check in took less than a minute. Place was very nice and more than met our expectations. Really enjoyed the quiet time away from home and the wonderful views. Went to Savannah for the day and had an excellent lunch at Lady and sons. Trip was just what our family needed. 4 days away to relax and enjoy each other.

It really was a nice facility - really could use an update of living room furniture since it was as though one was sinking down into a bucket - no support for back and difficult to climb out.

Beautiful vavation

It was a lovely condo, and in a good location near beach. Would like to come back for sure. We did find the microwave light on at odd times. Took us a few days to realize it was on a timer. Thought we might have ghosts! We have been home over a week now, and were wondering when we will receive our $150 deposit returned.

Great time on Hilton Head!

By all standards, this was a five star experience, except for checkin. From cleanliness to location to the spacious rooms, we couldn't have asked for more. Regarding checkin, the e-mail confirmation we received from Hotels.com was very unclear about where to check in. The address given was 35 De Allyon Ave. Since we don't live on H.H.,we had no idea where this is and assumed it's where the units are. We were turned away at the gate and after approaching the gate a second time were directed to the checkin. Directions and map could be greatly improved.

Inside of condo was clean but aged. Tub in second bathroom had large split gap between it and wall. Landscape workers started very early AM and were quite loud. Outside property was well kept especially considering claenup from damage from huuricane

second visit - different but equally great

This was our second stay at Shipyard in the space of 3 months (see previous review by me for more detail on the place). Shipyard actually contains about 6 different resorts. Last time, our condo was in the Carolina Club, which had a very large jacuzzi and was very close to the outdoor playground. This time, we ended up in Egret Point, which is where the outdoor heated pool is - as well as the Health Club to which weeklong access can be obtained for a truly minimal fee. The condo was newer, fancier (granite countertop for example) and had a somewhat better layout with a jacuzzi tub in each bathroom (although slightly smaller). The view from the master was unparalleled in beauty, especially when ~100 egrets descended on the lagoon to explain its name. The dryer went out the night before thanksgiving, yet we did not suffer even a day's delay in its replacement - a lifesaver because we have a toddler in cloth diapers! The personnel were truly wonderful, in spite of the holiday, and went above and beyond to get a new unit installed and otherwise help. We haven't a complaint and cannot wait to go back (again)!

Holiday happiness

This was a wonderful place for the family and to be able to visit th relatives for Thanksgiving. The facility gave us many activities to keep us involved between the holiday festivities.

perfectly situated and comfortable

We booked this hotel with a complete ignorance of Hilton Head based on a whim to take our daughter to the beach 'one last time' before winter. We wanted a space where we could do our own cooking sometimes - easier with a toddler than always eating out - and have easy access to the beach. The condo was spacious with generous amenities, include a large shower in the master with strong water pressure, a nice jacuzzi and full-sized washer & dryer. There were also 2 cruiser bikes per condo for complimentary use, which appeared of very good quality. (We packed our own bikes so did not try them out.) The development is gated with very friendly security/admissions personnel. The entire development was lovely with several large ponds complete with sunning turtles and gators, a well-groomed gold course, pools, and well-kept playgrounds. There were bike paths throughout the development, that were enjoyable to ride, and also direct beach access, though that stretch of beach is currently undergoing 'renourishment', so not ideal for biking. The local children's museum (see below), wonderful restaurants, a nice supermarket, and the main public beach access were all easily bikable. We plan to stay here again in future and highly recommend.

Nice place, but not what we were promised

Our #1 concern was that the condo be all on one level as one of our travelers has cancer and is unable to handle stairs. I expressed that concern when making reservation and hotels.com rep called resort to confirm before I made reservation. When we arrived at check in desk (at 1:00am thanks to tropical storm) I asked again about the accessibility and no stairs. She said it was fine. However when we finally arrived at the villa, all bedrooms were upstairs. We had to make the best out of a bad situation, but was very upset that we were given bad information.
