Hotel Spa di Higuey

"The property is new and in the middle of nowhere. The room smelled like mildew and it has a dangerous path to cross the major street to get to the restaurant and grocery store. The king bed was on the floor. Construction was everywhere and it appeared to be unsafe for the guests. The workers were sleeping in the undeveloped building next to the hotel. Several times we could see them looking into the guest rooms."

The front staff were very pleasant, but failed to mention many things to us, like the one restaurant (which they advertise as two - Asian and Italian) is adults only, so we were left to eat from the buffet the entire duration of our trip. It wasn't terrible as each day features different food, but...

"Not pet friendly. But pets are allowed. After several employees of the hotel warned me that “my dog was not allowed to leave the room during our stay”, I went to the reception to clarify. She confirmed that the employees were mistaken and that he could leave the room to relieve himself, but only if he was basically out of sight of any potential guests to come in contact with him. She suggested I use the service entrance. Our dog is part of our family, we don’t go through the trouble of traveling...

"Cocotal is my favorites place in bavaro, I do have my house in bavaro but I have decided to go in golf suit hotel for more safe and my kids love the pools, the working area, staff are exceptional."
