"Lovely staff, but the hotel could be so much better by upgrading the rooms and increasing availability of food on offer. The gardens could also be beautiful if maintained properly. Regular bus service to and from Helensburgh which has lots of restaurants to choose from, but would be nice to be able to eat in the hotel if have been out all day."

"Caravan is lovely and comfortable, though can be noisy in stormy weather, though otherwise it's a quiet location. Drive is quite steep for parking. Fantastic views over Loch Long. Access drive is a single road, is quite steep in places and it can be tricky to find the caravan."

"Beautiful location and maintained well. Reception could have been more helpful as I was travelling alone to explain the amenities on arrival. The restaurant was full until after 8pm (I was working from 6:30pm so couldn't eat in the restaurant) therefore it would have been helpful to offer a limited menu in the bar area as I believe there was nothing in the vicinity according to reception either. The breakfast staff didn't ask if I had been to breakfast previously so it was not explained where...

"Rooms and inn itself were great. Service at dinner was extremely slow to the point where we had to flag down a different staff member every time we needed something basic like getting water, ordering dessert, or even paying our bill. The restaurant also had the most uncomfortable restaurant chairs ever. Definitely not what we were hoping for after a long hard day of hiking up and down Conic Hill. It literally hurt more to sit than stand"

"we stayed in room 4 and despite having a radiator this was centrally controlled by the main reception. we found this out on night 2 as when we went to bed on the first night we whacked the radiator on thinking that would be that but nope, cold as ice through the night. reception did sort but the room didnt get that warm so assuming the thermostatic valve wasnt fully operational. the shower screen squeegee at the bottom didnt properly fit and a gap up at the hinge point meant water escapes onto...

"This was a fabulous hotel at some point! Sadly it needs a lot investment- however more could be done to show a bit more love. Outside terrace - iron work covered in cobwebs - quite a simple task to brush down. Carpets in public areas needed regular vacuuming."
