"A modern and comfortable room, but the poor breakfast service let down the overall enjoyment of the stay. The rooms are well designed and high quality, although there were issues with our lamp (flickering badly, couldn’t use it) and shower (blocked plug hole, not draining). Maintenance issues were reported to reception, but as it was the weekend, I was told there was nobody available to look into it until Monday. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the rest of the room. Breakfast was disappointing....

"Unfortunately, my stay was disappointing. The room was extremely hot and stuffy. While a fan had been provided, there was no air conditioning and the fan did little to improve the lack of ventilation. The room also did not appear to have been cleaned to a particularly high standard. There was a noticeable line of dust behind the radiator, and I found a small puddle of water on the bathroom floor upon entering the room. The sound insulation also appeared to be very poor. "Check-in was easy, staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small with stains on the carpet and marks on the wall - not great. Evening meal was very good in terms of quality. Not great was serving time and overall state of chairs and tables. Chairs were absolutely uncomfortable and tables wabbly in restaurant and breakfast room. Parking was OK, but road into property is full of potholes."

"Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing.
