"We had a great one night stay at Berwick Lodge on a a Monday to celebrate a birthday. The sun shone and the Housemartins flew happily around whilst we sat on the terrace having a cocktail.
The à la carte menu was fantastic - well worth the cost and breakfast was very tasty.
Will definitely stay again in one of the other fantastic looking rooms."

"I have stayed here several times now. On arrival had a long wait to be checked in. Nobody was on reception. When they finally turned up there was no apology for the wait. Room as expected but I thought this time it was looking very tired. Badly chipped paintwork. Dirty marks on carpet. A stone from a fruit from previous guest on floor. "The room was exceptionally clean as was the bathroom. There was constant hot water in the shower. The bed was comfortable, although I did find the pillows a bit unforgiving. The soundproofing was excellent, which ensured a good night’s sleep."

"We are returning clients and found the staff to be extremely attentive, particularly during breakfast which exceeded our expectations. Great choice even for me……Mr Fussy eater!
We stayed in a room with a King Bed, very comfortable and both slept well. The room was clean and maintained to a high standard.

"Hotel is fairly central (less than 10mins walk to the harbour) but there the remaining City Gate is at the end of Broad Street which makes for a nice quiet street for the hotel to be on (even with a bar opposite). Room was clean with plenty of tea bags and instant coffee (and Biscoffs!). Beds were comfy. All the staff I dealt with (which wasn't many) were friendly and helpful"

"Our room had obviously been refurbed fairly recently. The bathroom was pristine and extremely clean and well appointed. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was excellent. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good, with lots of choice of hot and cold options."

For the money it was great clean bathroom, clean bed linen bed a bit hard but that’s my preference. A great base for checking out Portis Head.

"This cellar apartment is a very cool place to stay. Our hosts were very welcoming and provided helpful information regarding the area and getting around.
Very nicely renovated with a well equipped kitchen, the apartment suited our needs perfectly. The bathroom was large with a great shower. It was very comfortable and quiet which made for an excellent night's sleep."

"Comfortable beds, nice decor, air conditioning was great with all the hot weather. Shower was nice, staff lovely!
Only gripe was a dog barking from 7 in the morning when we wanted a little lie in but that's not in the hotels control if guests dogs are barking. Only mention it as it's worth considering if you book into a pet friendly hotel there is a small chance of noise disturbance"

"Nice clean hotel located in the middle of the Harbourside.
Room was clean, bed comfy with a good shower.
Breakfast was plentiful.
Small grievance - did pay over £400 for 2 nights so assumed breakfast was included. Had to pay another £60 so nearly £230 a night is a little pricey.."

"Overall pretty great, but definitely a few negatives. Cleanliness was not 100%, by a long shot. Room was incredibly hot, oh so unbearably hot. We opened the sliding door as it was cool outside, but then flooded our room with bugs (100's of them). Room was close to the "lake", aka still water pond. Hence all of the bugs. If you are going to book this hotel, definitely book away from the pond or do not come in the hotter summer months. Staff were awesome, exceptionally amazing."
