Great service from all staff, very welcoming and friendly. Dinner and breakfast was amazing, tasty and plenty of food for 2 people. Onsen was peacful and relaxing. Would definitely stay again.
Great hotel and friendly staff. But if you are traveling with kids, be sure to inform the hotel in advance to ensure that the price indicated covered the kids also.
The food and the hot springs were amazing. I am so glad I found this place and stayed here.
I loved the timing system for each room, making the experience more enjoyable.
The Ryokan and Onsen experience was wonderful. Staffs were very friendly and food was delicious. Our only issue was that the toilet and bathroom was really small and crammed.
Very handy location for Mount Fuji and the Lakes - you probably need a car.
Rooms were fine, but we did find the thin futons and lack of comfy seating a little too much - but that's maybe typical, and we shouldn't complain too much. We had a fridge, kettle, coffee machine with coffee pods, daily bottles of water. The rooms were a good size.
The restaurant served typical Japanese food at breakfast and dinner, which was great, but it didn't change much in the 3 days we were there. Alcohol and drinks are also available at a reasonable price.
Each room was given a 50-minute slot each evening to use one of the 2 Onsens - these were very nice, and you had an indoor and an outdoor bath. There's probably availability during the day as well, but we were out looking at mountains etc.
Plenty of convenience stores and a supermarket nearby.
This property is a bit out of the way but so worth it. Bus stop is near by. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding and the private Onsen was wonderful
What an incredible place to visit. My mom, my daughters and I absolutely loved it. It’s safe, clean and incredibly unique experience. All of the staff are absolutely lovely and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy this amazing authentic experience. Mats are comfortable, rooms are clean. The food is out of this world. We cannot wait to come back.

Hakone is a must visit area
Our stay at this ryokan was fine, the place is super clean and tidy, super intimate and the personnel is hardworking
The classic japanese dinner was good
The onsen was private which was nice but indoors and a little bit underwhelming
However of I was to repeat the experience I would opt for a slightly upper-scale experience
They offer a private onsen room for a family and this is a great option for those who are not comfortable with public onsen experience. Despite the lack of English speaking staff members, they were super attentive and did their best to communicate with us.
While not designed for foreigners, the staff are proficient in English, generous, and accommodating. Just a little Japanese will ingratiate them to you even further. Westerners will be pushed a little outside of their comfort zone, but in a relaxing, kind, and easy-to-adapt-to way. Don’t forget that the onsen tax must be paid on site and in cash (¥150 per night when I stayed). The food is elaborate, delicious, but decidedly Japanese. The staff will talk you through it if you need help.

The dinner is very very good - highly recommended. They should allow pre-booking for dinner as there's not many restaurants nearby. I booked "half-board" on Expedia. However, when we checked in (shortly before 5pm), they don't serve dinner to us.
This was a smaller ryokan so the onsen required appointments which is nice since you get the whole onsen for your own group or yourself. You might have to get weird hours though. The rooms were Japanese style and spacious but the bathroom was small. Also the bathroom didn't smell very good. There was also a kotatsu which was very cool to see.
We had a lovely stay here! The bathroom could've been a little cleaner which is why we gave it 4/5. The half board is absolutely worth it, the food is incredible and you will not be hungry. The staff is very very nice and were helpful with any questions we had. This was the complete experience and we definitely recommend this location for anyone that wants to do the full traditional Japanese experience!
The town is small and easily walkable. We visited Choanji, a true hidden gem. Lots of places to eat and many that don't open till later in the day. Also a few grocery stores if you need anything.
