"We stayed at Hotel My.Fuji for one night and had a pleasant overall experience, but it comes with a few important caveats.
What worked well:
The value for the price is strong, especially given the incredible views of Mt. Fuji. Waking up to that alone made the stay feel special. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast is on the pricier side, but the selection is generous and worth it if you plan to stay on-site. The staff were also genuinely warm and helpful throughout.
What to be aware of:
The hotel itself feels quite dated, and the bathroom in particular could use a refresh as it felt a bit worn and not as clean as expected. The biggest drawback, though, is the shuttle service. There’s no clear timetable available online, the schedule is limited, and you must reserve in advance. This made it difficult to plan our departure, especially when we wanted to leave early for a bus to Kyoto but couldn’t because the first shuttle wasn’t until around 8:45 AM.
Overall:
With some updates and a more flexible, clearly communicated shuttle schedule, this could be a great stay. As it stands, it’s best suited for those planning to relax at the hotel rather than come and go frequently."
"I recently stayed at Toyoko Inn Tokyo Fussa Station Higashi and found it to be a solid, convenient option for a short stay in the area.
The biggest advantage is the location. Being right next to Fussa Station made getting around Tokyo and the surrounding areas incredibly easy. There are also plenty of dining options, convenience stores, and even a nearby supermarket, so everything you need is within walking distance. The hotel offers several practical amenities that add value, including free breakfast, on-site parking, and laundry facilities, which were all very convenient during our stay.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional, and it was a plus that many of them spoke English, making communication smooth and easy.
That said, there are a couple of downsides to be aware of. The breakfast area gets very crowded, especially with foreign tourists, so it often felt more comfortable to bring food back to the room rather than eat in the dining area. Additionally, the rooms are quite small compared to typical American hotel standards, which may be a consideration if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage or prefer more space.
Overall, Toyoko Inn Tokyo Fussa Station Higashi offers great value for its location and amenities, especially for travelers looking for convenience and affordability."
"We had a wonderful stay. The only thing I will mention is the AC was not very powerful and it got warm in our room easily. But other than that, the amenities were fantastic, the staff were friendly and the property was organized and clean."
"We stayed in the Annex two buildings down, not in the hotel. We had a group of 4 so wanted a larger space for everyone. There were two beds and two futons, plus a couch. Both the beds and futons were extremely hard and none of slept at all. We were also woken up at 8am by construction on the building which we were not notified in advance of. We had a kaiseki dinner at the hotel the first night which was just ok. The staff did not explain anything about what we were eating and seemed uncomfortable talking with foreigners. We ate a lot of what we didnt know what we were eating and it seemed to be more about varying textures than taste. We did not get the breakfast or use the onsens. We did get a massage that spa which was very nice however with the hard beds, I feel like it was cancelled out. There is no view of fuji but can see the lake from the private entrance. It was fully stocked with housewares, two bathrooms, one shower and an overly large cedar bathtub that we did not use. "
"Our stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko was wonderful. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. They also provide pajamas/loungewear, which were extremely comfortable and a nice extra touch. We loved having a balcony with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji, especially in the morning and at sunset.
The onsen and public baths were relaxing, and we especially enjoyed the private onsens as well.
The location was peaceful and quiet, with gorgeous scenery all around. I highly recommend taking advantage of the hotel shuttle service to get to and from Kawaguchiko Station, as getting Ubers was more difficult than not, especially for a larger group.
The nearest FamilyMart and 7-Eleven are about a mile away, so the breakfast buffet is definitely worth adding to your stay. There was a wide variety of options, and it was a great way to start the day before heading out.
The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. Honestly, this was the best stay of all the places we visited in Japan. We would definitely stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko again."
"Excellent experience for my whole family. We especially enjoyed the personalized service, delicious BBQ and breakfast, unique outdoor sauna, hand-ground coffee in room, excellent selection of unique & local fruity alcoholic beverages in the fridge, heated beds (so comfortable!), hammock, and strong air conditioning.
