"We stayed at this lodge while visiting Yosemite. The room was spacious, and the property has some nice amenities, including a swimming pool and a kids' play area, which families may appreciate.
However, there were several inconveniences that future guests should be aware of. The staff were generally not very helpful when it came to providing directions or information about nearby restaurants, stores, or other local services. Drinking water is only available at the office, which closes early in the morning and after 8:00 PM, making it difficult to access water outside office hours.
Since many guests use this property as a base for visiting Yosemite, it would be helpful if basic guest needs such as water refills, extra towels, and other supplies were more accessible when the office is closed. Additionally, the nearest gas station and convenience store are approximately 20–30 minutes away, so it's important to plan ahead and stock up on essentials before arriving.
The location is also farther from Yosemite than some travelers may expect. The park entrance is about 24 miles away, which took us roughly 30–40 minutes to reach, and Yosemite Village was about an hour away under good traffic conditions. If you're planning multiple trips in and out of the park each day, be prepared for a significant amount of driving.
Overall, the property offers large rooms and family-friendly amenities, but guests should plan carefully for supplies, food, and travel time during their stay."
"This hotel is nice and quaint. It is an older hotel with remolded rooms. The staff was very friendly and willing to help in any way. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable."
"The room was large and having the kitchenette and included breakfast were nice. The pool wasn’t fancy, but the kids had a great time playing. The blackout curtains in the room were not very effective and the hallway was loud. Overall it was still a pretty good experience."
"Clean and spacious room. Friendly staff.
Marginal breakfast.
Tub shower did not have any grab bar or other way to steady oneself getting in and out of the tub -- dangerous. On this ten day trip, this was the only hotel that did not have at least one grab bar."
"Front desk staff was friendly and informative, common areas where spotless, and check in and parking was easy and convenient. Included breakfast was also delicious. We did fined a satin on one of the pillow cases, but I'm sure if we noticed it sooner and said something a new one would have been brought up. Overall I'm still very please with my stay there and would book again!"
