"We really appreciated the restoration work here - they’ve kept the heritage feel of the hotel intact without making it feel dated. Despite being above a pub and right on a main road, the rooms were surprisingly quiet. Great location for exploring North Sydney. The common room and kitchen was a lovely surprise. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus that made mornings easy."

"The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel is a superb historic pub in an old stone building in the Rocks neighborhood of Sydney just near Circular Quay 1 km and the southern end of Sydney harbour bridge. "My wife and I stayed at the Russell for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were all going out of their way to provide any help needed. Always asking if wanting more. The room was cleaned every day with chocolate turndowns at night. Location was perfect! Lots of activity and close to transportation. Definitely worth money spent for a wonderful time."
