Fantastic stay - beautiful rooms. Friendly staff and lovely grounds with lake, heated outdoor pool and floating sauna.
We had the most wonderful stay at fritton lakes. The staff were lovely , the food was very high standard and our family room with our little boy just gorgeous!!
The out door swimming pool is brilliant we can’t wait to go back in the summer months, to enjoy all the outdoor activities.
The carpets in the rooms are a little tired but I think that maybe can’t be helped due to the farm style surroundings coming in doors off peoples footwear, but everything else was 5* !
Beautiful property, lovely room, and great staff. Peter was an absolute treasure on check-out, made us feel so welcome and made us feel right at home. I loved the cosy, family feeling of staying at Fritton. The noise however was too loud, and we got woken up by our neighbours leaving for breakfast. Our room (Lady Scott) is above an entrance and each time the door slammed shut the room shook, to the point it woke us up. I do feel that the sole purpose when paying to stay somewhere, sleep quality is a priority.
A fantastic place with so many things to do included - particularly loved the sauna, outdoor heated pool, lake and just the general atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
We had a very nice stay. The staff was very friendly, but some were a bit unexperienced. Loved the pool and the lake. Unfortunately they closed the lake the next day due to severe algae. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.
A gorgeous place, slightly let down by the service
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fritton Lake, and the hotel and facilities were wonderful, especially the heated pool!
We enjoyed long morning walks around the lake and grounds, and sitting outside to enjoy our meals at the restaurant (the food was brilliant).
Our room was comfortable, cosy and stylish (but we could have done with a mini fridge to keep milk in for our mornig coffee, and our baby's milk).
The grounds were obviously very well kept and cared for.
The only thing that let down Fritton Lake was its service. One of the ladies on the front desk wasn't very warm or welcoming on our arrival, to the point of being rude. She also didn't know about any of the walking routes around the property, which we thought was strange (surely every guest must ask about this!).
Other staff we dealt with seemed new and inexperienced (one staff member at the pool bar said he didn't know how to work the pizza oven, despite pizza being the only food they served there!), and another had no idea whether we could bring our dog into certain areas or not.
We also had an issue where my husband ordered an iced white americano, and the lady serving us had no idea what that was. Everyone seemed confused and new.
The hotel would benefit from training its staff members up a little more and ensuring their front-of-house staff (one lady in particular) are less cold and rude to guests who are spending a good amount of money to stay there.

Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Poor Family Room experience.
Family room is very uncomfortable and not recommended for families. Room ceiling heights are so low that you have to stoop all the time. Cleanliness of the room was poor - spider webs, dust and broken light fittings. No shower or wardrobes and the children’s bed is next to the bathroom so practically the space doesn’t work. The pool and lake are lovely and the food was very good.
