"The property is a lovely place that has kept its unique original features. The Victorian facades and interior are refreshingly maintained. The staff are all very welcoming and genuinely friendly. Well located in a rural spot but 5 minutes walk into town, via the sea front promenade."

"We want to have a night away from home. The Hotel was beautiful in the coastal road and looked impressive. Old style with lots of charm and character. The room was lovely and looked out across the bay. Lovely and clean and a bathroom that had a bath with a shower. Elmis shower wash and hair products. ..."

"Had such a lovely stay at Cartmel Old Grammar, a great location close to the village with gorgeous views of the racecourse and beautiful rooms. The breakfast is particularly good. Lauren is such a fabulous host and made our anniversary weekend very special. We will definitely be back."

My feeling is this Hotel gets its 4th star because of its and i use the term loosely Spa, We still enjoyed our stay in Grange over Sands but wish it had been in a different Hotel.
