"Got upgraded to the 2 bedroom apartment with garden view, very quiet and great to relax, breakfast and dinner were superb. We both had a massage at the spa that was very relaxing and enjoyable. A hire car would be recommended to take advantage of the surrounding area."

"Great pool, friendly staff, and nice gym. The location was perfect, 5-15 min away from anything you would like to do (by car). Breakfast was great, I would not recommend eating lunch or dinner though, over priced and lacks flavor, plenty of better options in the local area."

"Property was a short 5 mins drive out of Ferragudo centre. Also walkable in around 25 minutes its about 2km to town . If you just want the beach there is a lovely path through woods which takes about 5 mins to get there, but there are no facilities on the beach, if you want sun loungers its probably around 1km to walk along the beach until you come to these along with three restaurants. The Property itself is traditional very clean and tidy, quite small which we liked! perhaps 40 bedrooms max....

"We completed the Fisherman’s Trail and wanted to find a nice place to chill and relax for a few days before heading to Germany for a family wedding. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the pool area was so relaxing with great views. We were able to easily get a boat to the Benigal caves. The beach was close and the ocean was amazing. We enjoyed the shopping, the Black and White party to celebrate the beginning of summer. We will definitely be back and...

"The staff were really what turned this four star experience into a five star experience (thank you very much for the room upgrade when I informed of the anniversary celebration). The staff are very helpful and courteous. Hotel has plenty of amenities. I particularly enjoyed the rooftop pool, the coffee station at reception, the made to order eggs and fresh orange juice being squeezed at breakfast! The rooms are tastefully designed, and you can really see how the hotel tries to make everything...

"The room and bathroom were excellent and the brkfst was perfect. The air/heat was working well. Everyone was very helpful and ready to offer more. The last morning we were there they laid out an early breakfast even though I think we were the only ones there and were leaving before breakfast would normally have begun. My husband and I would definitely recommend Villa Rio Guest House to friends. "

We expected a new 4-star hotel experience, but the bed was unbelievably hard. Genuinely the hardest and most uncomfortable hotel bed we have ever slept on. There was no topper or anything to soften it, and my back still hurts. Our friends had a separate room and had the same experience. None of us slept well. The room also got extremely hot.
