Hotel entrance smelt strongly of cooking upon arrival. Had to knock 3 times to get anyone out to check in, there was a bit of a language barrier as I could hardly understand her. Bed was clean and made up but the bathroom had mould and smelt of sewage. There was a constant bleeping every half an hour which kept me awake. Nice pub up the road though.
Parking was available. Bedroom was clean.Bathroom had black mould in shower.Shower hanging off,so couldn't close it. No plug for washbasin.
Mattresses were uncomfortable -quite old I think. No breakfast available. We won't be returning.

Disliked: Staff & service
Comfortable hotel
Hotel was comfortable but reception not so readily accessible. Had to wake owners up on two occasions around 9am in the morning to ask for extra milk etc. It was not clear how to get hold of them if needed during the day and the staff seemed a bit apathetic when a request was made.
My room was so small I could touch the sink at the end of my bed !
It had an en-suite shower and toilet but sink was at the foot of the bed very odd !
The pillows are stained and rock hard
But - tv in room nice and warm with heater
I asked the lady if she had any water she told me to drink the tap water
Would I stay here again ? YES only because it’s so so cheap and for work purposes but there is a lovely pub next door called the mead row very lovely people great beers you can have food delivered , lovely Locals and a lovely cozy warm pub
The area is fabulous , but the room was like a cell
Despite the awful reviews I booked the Godalming hotel as we only needed a room for the night. Expectations were low but it marginally exceeded them.
Room was clean and basic. It was a very warm night and there was constant conversation going on outside my window.
The room served its purpose but won't be back.
Very basic hotel. No front staff. No restocking of refreshments. Hotel is located out of the town centre so a walk or car ride to local restaurants. Easy access to public transport

Yes it was cheap and i was aware of the shared bathroom facilities. The room was a reasonable size and it was clean enough, though dated. I can accept the confusion about whether or not breakfast was included as I had made other arrangements. But an absolute minimum for any overnight stay is being able to sleep; to have a bed so lumpy you cannot sleep more than a couple of hours defeats the purpose of hiring a room. A comfortable mattress would have made all the difference between a stay that could have been good for the price and one that was actually awful.

Liked: Amenities
The room was adequate and clean with good facilities such as tea and coffee, tv, wifi and hairdryer. It was a quiet room. Space for parking. A cheap room for those on a budget. Hotel was a little run down. I was not given much direction or orientation to my room or the facilities. I didn't have ensuit and the communal toilet was dirty with no sink. The shower was great, good pressure and nice hot water. Overall it provided a cheap room for sleeping which was what i was looking for.
If it's cheap, it's cheap for a reason! Lady at reception was lovely. The whole building inc the grounds & rear car park are very tired and need desperate attention. "Hotel" was clean, but apart from the lobby, it needs a refurb. Mattress was past its best date - not comfy. No chair for the desk. Despite advertising it provides FREE breakfast, it doesn't serve ANY food, paid for or otherwise. In a pretty good location of town centre and railway station
Room was okay, although I had to ask for some of the handles to be cleaned as they were still sticky from the last occupant. Bed sheets were less than luxurious making me wonder if they were part nylon.
The hotel was exactly as described and very convenient for my job.

Room was okay, lots of staining on the door and a broken door into the bathroom. Bed was too small for someone over 6ft, and the toilet was too close to the shower to really sit on.
No information given about breakfast or staff on hand to ask when I went down in the morning. No lockbox for returning keys just left on the desk.
Very interesting arrangement of rooms, stairs and floors in this house. The room was clean and comfortable, but the shelf/hanging cabinet behind the door was unsteady. The entire place could use a little updating. It is convenient to the rail station, and quiet even though it's on a main road.
