"Johannesburg was going through a cold snap. When i got to the room the holder for the air con remote was empty and the room was cold with the air con blasting cold air. The vent in the bathroom room was blowing cold air noisily the entire night. I called the front desk to report the missing remote and I told them that i was unable to adjust the temp without the remote- and was assured that they will attend to it. It was a long flight to Johannesburg from Atlanta- i waited until 11pm but...

"I loved everything about this hotel. After speaking with Tamsyn for several months, she (and the rest of the staff!) made sure my visit was exactly how I wanted.
The food was spectacular. Hats off to the chef.

But suffers from the usual lack of communication between staff as well as lack of visible genuine professional enthusiasm of staff who just seem to be going through the motions and who couldn’t care less about the guest experience. "One of the most beautifully decorated buildings I've ever visited. Everything is made with attention to detail, and the color combinations are so vibrant. Staff was friendly without invading our space. I also liked that they seemed to have interns training while we were there. One small complaint: the shampoo and shower wash in the bathroom are unreasonably high. A child that's old enough to shower alone may have trouble reaching."
