"We loved our stay! The airstream was perfect for our party of 3, loved the firepit and the location was beautiful. Just beware you can’t park at your site, everything needs to be carried or they provide wagons. Also, the airstream had a small fridge which was nice and a microwave. Drive to General Sherman is about 1.5 hrs but sooo worth it!!"
"Overall good experience old hotel but very well maintained. It did provide us free breakfast which was not mentioned on the description. We can recommend this hotel."
"When we first arrived, I was a little worried- mild odor in older, remodeled hotel, poor Verizon service, intermittent WiFi, and very firm mattresses in our suite. The odor dissipated quickly with the windows open, the internet was better the next day, and apparently we sleep fine on firm mattresses. We would definitely stay there again because of the close proximity to Sequoia National Park, the kitchenette in our room (and shared kitchen elsewhere too), the free laundry area, and the free river access just a short walk away. You could really sense that there was a lot of work going on to make this place great (shared spaces would have just been another income generating room elsewhere). Our kids loved the game room too on a rainy day!"
"I couldn't physically make it to my hotel due to things out of my control. I contacted them as soon as I was able. I booked two nights. They refused even a partial refund for the second night. Took my money and I never set foot through the door. I understand the first night but the second is a joke. Avoid."
"The location and the river is excellent but we were quite disappointed with what we came to for the price we paid.
Unfortunately the terrace was not connected to the room so you had to walk out of the room lock the doors and walk behind thr building which wasn't convenient. Loads of dust and mouldy bathroom with some green liquid spilled in the cupboard. There were other rooms that looked nicer on the picture so I guess we were not lucky The river view was hindered by bin and rubbish over the green and dead plants on the patio.
Communication with the host was spot on and very pleasant. This place has a huge potential to be the dream place to stay with some TLC."
"Very rustic. What they don’t tell you is they run completely off grid. Electricity is so so no hot water. Mattress needed replaced many years ago. No AC or working heat, WiFi was iffy but worked most of the time. Whole place is run down and tired. Severely scratched annd broken furniture, old worn blankets etc Only food available is the pizza and it was just ok. The breakfast was good. Staff all seemed new. The linen order hadnt arrived when we were checking in and they didn’t know when it would. Other staff I asked questioned from both stated they didn’t know they were “new” for the price they charge seems ridiculous. we left a day early and wouldn’t stay again."
"The rooms did not have a microwave, tv or coffee maker, just a hot pot for water. The water did not get that hot and the WiFi was a bit difficult to get."
"Even though their bridge was still out and the drive in was an adventure, the lodge was a nice change of pace. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. All meals were included and amazing! They made sure to provide labeling and alternatives for people with food allergies. As a mom and grandma of boys with allergies, this was great to see.
We did not take advantage of the daily activities, as we explored the park, but were impressed by the offerings. If we returned to Sequoia National Park, we would stay there again."
