"I had a fantastic stay at The Apple House. The hosts and staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful with anything I needed. In particular, as I have celiac disease, it can sometimes be hard finding places willing or able to accommodate for a gluten-free diet. Not so with The Apple House folks, who made sure to make me a wonderful gluten-free breakfast each morning which was delicious, filling and didn’t leave me with any problems later on. "This is such a lovely hotel, we had a twin room on the top floor. The room was clean and comfortable and had a lot of charm. We had breakfast twice and there is plenty to choose from the menu. We also had an evening meal, the prawn cocktail was delicious and they are not shy on the prawns it seemed endless and very fulfilling,followed by salmon and potatoes that was cooked perfectly. The staff were so nice and helpful and nothing was to much .The property itself is a 15 min walk from the train...

The hotel is within very easy walking distance to the town centre. At the moment lots of building work in this area but you are not far from the lovely streets and shopping in York."
