"It has the sleeping in your mom's basement vibe. Location is excellent with stores, restaurants, pubs and University energy. Easy and safe walk to train stations and bus stops. Easy for ride shares to locate you. Staff is offsite but very responsive; they fixed issues within a day. I think they were the most attentive of any of my UK stays. "Convenient location and very clean inside (a bit shabby exterior). Strange accommodation set up and room layout let this place down - single bathroom only accessible through the tiny kitchen, no kitchen worksurfaces, no forks?! Communication / check-in very good and friendly."

"Booking is made on Expedia, but the you complete the registration on another site. Shower is built into a very small closet. Toilet is on the other side - in another closet. You have to straddle the toilet to use a hand basin that barely fits my hands and it's not possible to wash your face in it without splashing water all over the floor. Entrance way through to the room is in shockingly poor condition. Not the welcome one would hope to see. I would not recommend this room."

"Staff really welcoming and pleasant. Rooms were perfect and clean. Plenty of extra air conditioning around the hotel due to extreme high temperatures. Quick check in and check out. Offered a glass of bubbly on arrival. Despite busy hotel and World Cup Football there was no noise so slept really well. Breakfast was lovely, great selection of food and juices. Perfect location and will definitely stay again."

"Budget rooms, a little akin to a hostel. Car park covered in broken glass. Rooms and corridors smell of stale smoke masked with air freshener. Bedding was clean and comfortable, but chewing gum stuck to windowsill and picture hanging off wall. Blind broken (husband fixed so could pull down). Holes in walls and poorly fitting doors. People from bar using corridor for getting to car park and fire doors left open. I’m not even mentioning factors outside of the accommodations control such as noise...

"Rude receptionist who barely acknowledged us on arrival, completely disinterested. The room was basic but clean and fine for our short stay of 1 night. The general noise levels are awful, no soundproofing in the walls and constant banging from an internal door along the corridor. There is no temperature control in the room and it was particularly hot weather which made our stay very uncomfortable and difficult to sleep. Would not recommend to anyone and we are very easy going people"

"I stayed here in 2025 and booked the same place because my 2025 experience was positive. The price is reasonable. My room was excellent (a double and a single bed for one person). There's plenty of food outlets nearby and it is only a short walk from the railway station. I'd definitely book again"

"I stayed in a smaller room. This is my 2nd visit. My only complaint is the pillows they are awful. Everything else is good. Staff super helpful, great easy parking. Nice touches like the fridge and coffee machine downstairs."
